This rope is going so many places in my yard - all kids should have access to a good rope for imagination play. When I was a kid we used our ropes to build all kinds of forts and structures, and it's wonderful to see my kids carrying on this childhood tradition. The rope is soft, and the color is nice. It's a good size to be sturdy without being too thick or rough for them to use. Right now they are keeping the length coiled up, but I may cut it into a couple of lengths so it's easier to use. I sought this out to replace a rope I had, a very nice 120 ft. 1/4 inch rope salvaged from a 12 ft. scow when the mast snapped....20 years ago. Now there are still a couple or short pieces around 5 6 feet. My choice did not involve high strength or UV or strands.. I plan it for general purposes, from securing a pick-up load to pulling on a smaller tree or bigger limb to have it miss the neighbor's when cut. In general a bigger diameter means less tangle troubles and easy to pull on no cutting into the hands or body if wrapped around. But the main reason to get this was the rope is the 1/2 inch size is too big to cut, not useful in 5 ft. pieces and so I expect to have a nearly 100 ft. rope or two 50 ft. ropes in 20 more years. Good rope that I will be using to fell some trees. One tree in particular could ruin a fence depending on which way the tree falls. I will use the rope to help make sure the fall is in the right direction. So far, so good.

What more needs to be said about rope? You have plenty of length to do a multitude of tasks with this high-strength, thick rope. It will come in handy for truck bed tie-downs, securing tarps, tree trimming, or even pulling vehicles. The tensile strength marked on the product is stated as 812lb, however, I believe that to be an error in the description as is actually it's maximum working load. Tensile strength for 1/2" poly rope is usually closer to 8,000lbs; they should really fix the description as this is fantastically useful rope to have handy in the back of the truck. My only two complaints about this product is the packaging is kind of joke, with plastic wrap that disintegrates when handled, and most importantly, the rope is not quite 1/2". it's more like 0.475 inches, as can be seen with a caliper. I checked multiple sections and got the same reading. ... show more
