After having to cut off the spare tire winch from my son's 2002 Tahoe (only to figure out that we had the wrench in backwards - not our smartest moment!), we replaced it with this. It works and hopefully will hold up for another 18 years.

    • Does not come with hardware
I am unable to install it yet as it does not come with the mounting bolt, or at least mine didn't. Since my previous hoist was loose due to missing the bolt I am unable to reuse the stock bolt. If anyone knows what part that is or where I can get it that would be great. Otherwise looks like it should work fine. ... show more

Do Not Buy!!! Winch only worked one time. Installed new winch and raised spare tire into place. Lowered spare tire to test winch and would not raise again. Don’t waste your money unless you plan on replacing every time you need to lower your spare tire.

Fit like a glove but it does not have a fail safe if cable broke. I should not have to worry about this but still needs to be said.

Took 15 minutes to install. Works good and keeps the tire in place so far has not gotten loose. Tire stays tight and hoist doesn't get slack after two road trips still in place.
