Description

Zippo’s Matte lighters are one of the most popular lighter finishes as the matte finish gives the lighter a smooth texture, it doesn’t show fingerprints, it doesn't scratch easily, and there are a variety of colors to choose from. The black matte lighter was first introduced into Zippo’s stock line in 1984 and soon after four more colors were introduced; blue, burgundy, green, and grey. In 1985, the Zippo logo was imprinted on the lighter and a border was added. Matte colors and designs continue to improve with time. Each lighter has a bottom stamp signifying the year it was made, is refillable, and is backed by Zippo's famous lifetime guarantee. All windproof lighters are American made in our Bradford, PA factory and come packaged in a gift box.

I never saw a use for lighters until I got tired of using Bic disposable lighters and matches against the wind. I burn incense and the flame would go out from strong winds. I remember my dad using a Zippo lighter and I found online this lighter saying it's windproof and it has an assortment of colors so I chose pink matte finish. So cute... I love anything pink (or purple) It has a "powder coat finish" that will last a lifetime in my opinion. I didn't need it, I just wanted it. I bought this for my girlfriend so she had something to fiddle with and use to smoke the occasional cigarette. Today's Zippos, in my opinion, are not of the same quality of those from decades ago. The lid feels like it is attached by a flimsy hinge, and the inside has not been painted. I understand that if they painted the inside then the lighter element may not be able to slide in properly, but then again...that design could have been changed. As a lighter, it is still a Zippo. Windproof, fun to refill, and fun to perform 'tricks' on. I would have given 5 stars if the build quality was a little more rugged, but all in all this is a great product. ... show more
