  • Great Replacement BUT……
Color: White
The product does what it was designed to do. Quality is okay, it does come with the camera bracket and Home Button replacement installed. It is very important for DIYers to know that IF you in fact replace the home button instead of removing the home button off the of the old digitizer(the one that came with your device when you bought it). YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE TOUCH ID FEATURES. Although we did not need to replace the home button I just xferred the old one and installed it on the replacement, for my daughter to be able to face the security features that are a lot hard to bypass than a simple passcode. I kept the home button that came with the replacement just in case something happens and she manages to damage her original. ... show more

  • Good quality kit. Just what I was looking for.
Color: Black
I went with this kit because of the large number of reviews and the info they provided. I figured that I might try this repair since my iPad was not usable any more with a shattered screen. The packaging and quality of materials really surprised me for the price. There are plenty of “how to” videos on YouTube showing how to doo the repair. Many are using the same kit I purchased. These were very helpful. I would definitely buy this again if I ever need it. One disclaimer … this kind of work is very delicate and requires a steady hand and patience to be done right. Most negative comments can be directly linked to using the kit improperly. Work carefully, slowly and follow directional advice and you should be fine. ... show more

  • Great customer service
Color: White
This is the second time I have replaced the digitizer on my 5th gen iPad. The first was a different brand and it worked great for about 2 months. Then it developed ghost touches and within about a week after the first symptom it had gotten so bad that it was unusable. I replaced it with this Zentop digitizer. Replacing the screen the second time around is much easier than the first. First, removing the screen is much easier. No heat gun required. Second and most importantly you have been through it before and you know what to expect. Seriously, it took me at least 2-3 hours to replace it the first time. The second time I couldn't really figure out how it took me so long. 1) Pop the digitizer out. 2) take out the 4 screws holding the LCD screen and lift it up. 3) Take the 3 screws out holding the cables in. 4) pop the cables out from the main body. 5) remove the home button from the new digitizer and replace it with the button from the old digitzer. (I use a couple of drops of B-7000 glue to hold the home button in). 6) put it all back together. I use some Kaisi 3 mm double sided tape along the right side where the cables connect to provide a little better adhesion. I think this is a good idea. So I got this Zentop installed in short order. Before I pressed the digitizer in place I gave it a quick once over, making sure that both the screen and the home button functioned correctly. I brought the home button over from my original digitizer so that the touch ID function worked. Once satisfied that it was working correctly I peeled the backing from the tape and pressed it in place. But after doing that I quickly discovered that the digitizer was not fully functional. the bottom inch or so just did not respond. I played around with it for a bit before I just decided that it needed to be returned and replaced. I got on the Amazon site, went to my orders and clicked on "product support" or something similar next to the Zentop order. I described my issue and requested a return. I was told that the product would ship immediately and that I would receive it in a couple of days. This was about 6:00 PM on a Friday. On Saturday I returned home sometime around 4:00 PM and found the replacement screen had already been delivered. This time there were no issues and I have been using it for about 2 weeks without any issues. I gave it a 4 stars because of the initial defect. I would have given it less than that if it wasn't for the stellar replacement performance. ... show more

  • Quite an adventure
Color: White
I had dropped my iPad on a tile floor while on vacation; it created a crack coming from the lower left corner that worsened quickly to the point that the surface had little pieces of glass sticking up. I figured that since I play piano for a living it might be better to not risk my livelihood just to play Word Chums. So I resorted to my phone for a while while I perused my options for repair or replacement. The cost of either one was prohibitive, so I hopped on Amazon, the land of opportunity and replacement parts. I found one I was willing to try. It arrived quickly and in good condition. The product itself was fine, but a few complicating factors made it not work for me. One, the lack of instructions, even a link to a specific youtube, made it frustrating because there was no way to know if the video would work for my particular product replacement...or little details like how far in the adhesive went. This lack of instruction was acknowledged in the product description...somewhere; that's how I knew to YouTube it. I did find a few videos that helped, and I managed to get the damaged screen off successfully and removed the connectors with no complications. Very encouraging. My problems came later. The adhesive was only mediocre; one video recommended extra 2mm tape for this. I wish I had had some. I had it lined up all straight and got the new connectors in place and tested the display to make sure it worked and that the button worked--checked out fine. Then I lined it up to use the adhesive, got the bottom two corners lined up perfectly; then I got to the upper right corner and lined up the corner. It was off just a little, so I pressed it a teeny bit and...c-r-r-r-a-a-c-c-k-k-k. Sigh. I mean it was such a light pressure, how could it have withstood any normal amount of usage? Then, I guess out of sympathy, the other corner cracked too. Oh well, it still worked, and the cracks were not as inconvenient as the one I had replaced. But the adhesive wasn't strong enough to keep the surface in place, so my husband gave me some clamps to hold it in place til the adhesive was convinced it should adhere. Well, the clamp must have pinched the wire, so now the home button doesn't work. So the only way I can get on the iPad is to turn it off and then turn it back on which prompts the passcode screen. Then I can use it and get to my desired locations by swiping up. Not a big deal because the fingerprint ID didn't work with the new button anyway, which was previously stated...no surprise; also, if you want to, you CAN save your old button to use if you want to use the fingerprint part, so says the video. So the bottom line is that it's still about only 5% the cost to get it repaired by Apple, so it wasn't any more expensive than going to a movie and getting popcorn and a drink. Fortunately my son had given me his spare iPad, so it was nonessential. It was a great evening's entertainment, I learned how the iPad works, and I only got poked by a glass shard a couple times. I might do it again. That plus I got a cute little screwdriver and a couple of substitute guitar picks if I lose mine. ... show more

  • Great replacement screen, cones with everything needed
Color: Black
Great screen replacement. Comes with all the needed tools minus a heat gun. The screen adhesion does feel that it will break down over time and is not as strong as factor adhesive, however i do feel like this is all replacement screens issue. I would say this is a great option. For those that are planning on doing this job for the first time, you will need a heat gun to remove your old screen, and you must be very careful when it comes to dealing with the button area, i broke mine during install and messed up the connections. This was user error however and not the fault of the screen ... show more

  • Don’t Panic When You Get the Box! Commit Up Front not to Rush
Color: Black
Never done this before. Tips: Don’t panic when you get a box with ZERO instructions, not even a website reference. I guess they figure if you can’t figure out how to use what has been shipped then you don’t need to be attempting this repair. Don’t panic - YouTube has your back, after watching a few different videos you will find this is an excellent kit. The tools supplied are perfect, especially the metal bar, and the black pick and push stick. Key things to pay particularly close attention too that doesn’t get addressed in videos is reattaching the glass flat cables. You just have to make sure the two cables that push in are aligned before pushing them down and set, just use fingertip to apply pressure till they seat. The third cable make sure the clasp is open and use pusher to seat it under the clamp, I had to push it a little to get it under the clamp. To clean the old adhesive I used acetone, goo gone, t-shirt swatches and the metal and plastic pick. Once completely clean, the new one stuck just wonderfully, looks factory. Be sure before you stick the glass the cable slack at the hinge point is tucked and doesn’t get pinched between the case groove and the glass. When sticking the glass concentrate on the button alignment and not pinching the glass cables and the rest of it will fall right in place. After completing it I realized the kit is great. Having the pre applied adhesive is so much easier and with this kit you can ignore the button removal from the old one, also nice. Update: I have found the fingerprint recognition doesn’t work with this new button. Everything else seems fins so far. ... show more

  • As they say, first pancake usually gets messed up ... BUT
Color: White
I've read some of your reviews, and something became apparent to me, original adhesion is not the best and it may or may not have grounding issues, so, instead I bought this here scree and got thee double sided electronics repair tape, you know the one that Apple used originally, and because its electrical tape its not gonna let the ground mess around, I even removed their button, and kept minereattached the bracket and it works with out a problem, no possessed screens supper smooth, I wasn't watching the cable that went from the screen onto the motherboard and it got stuck a little so I had to open it back up, fixing it and closing back. I DO NOT see the difference with the original. so get the tape , its extra 6 bucks, and you will not have any issues ... show more

  • Watch a video before installing. Almost messed up home button connector!
Color: Black
This is the screen you need for a generation 5 iPad. When I searched for a screen and digitizer, I was thrown off because I couldn’t find them separate and the reviews for this one made it sound like I needed another piece because this screen. I bought this screen anyways and was just hoping it’s what I needed and it was. It was rough getting the old screen off. Be very careful taking the connectors apart especially for the home button. I recommend watching a YouTube video first. Once getting the old screen off and it cleaned up for the new one, it wasn’t difficult to replace. My only down fall is that for a couple more bucks it would have been nice for the seller to have added adhesive. I was afraid of getting the wrong kind. I recommend the seller and this screen. It came on time and with everything I needed for repair. Thank you! I’m a real customer and I wasn’t paid for this review. Lol ... show more
