  • Good Product - Installation Notes
Color: White
You need a heat gun. Heat the edges of the screen and start pulling up. You must start on the opposite side of the cable connections for the display. Once detached, pull up like opening a door. Get all the glass removed, use goo gone or essential oils to remove the glue and tape from the last display. After that, remove the lcd screen, then disconnect the lcd screen and then you can disconnect the digitizer (touch screen) which is located under the lcd screen connector. You should have 7 screws at this point (4 for lcd screen, 3 for lcd connector). Connect new digitizer, clean lcd with windex and alcohol if needed, windex would be last step with a microfiber. Remove tape on digitizer cable and adhere it to digitizer and bottom of ipad. Install LCD. Remove tape around digitizer and remove protective covering from back of digitizer. Adhere it to ipad, then use heat gun to melt the glue. Done... ... show more

I was a little nervous at first. But after watching a YouTube video on how to install this kit, it worked perfectly. Just take it slow and easy. I had no problems with adhesion or fit. Saved my grandson $125.00 on the repair, and learned a thing or two about how these electronics are put together. Win Win ... show more

  • Excellent OEM alternative
Color: Black
to most negative reviewers: are you serious about expecting instructions? do you get instructions when buying auto parts on how to replace them? And if you receive broken product, return it, why leaving negative review? Please read description, the item does not come with touch id home button. And replacing original home button is the hardest part since it won't stay in place as in original unit. The best I came up with was to add silicone underneath it which holds it in place. But the screen itself works great. Adhesive sucks as with mostly all screens, so get B7000 glue for the replacement job. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly, pre glued on strips the best.
Color: Black
Dropped my ipad 5th generation 128gb ($299 from costco) on the power button edge, screen cracked and power button seized up. Initially ordered another touch screen digitizer that cracked right out of the box. This one was awesome. By the way, i consider myself a excellent diy person, but never messed with an iPad or similar electronic. This product was great righ out of the box( regret not making a video), the Phillips screwdriver was the right size and magnetic. The touchscreen had pre-glued on strips. Disposable wipes were ok, but i had to use a microfiber cloth to clean the lcd screen before final installation. The home button doesn't support fingerprint, so i warmed up the bracket holding the preinstalled one on, removed it, and slipped it my old one. Overall I found everything to be just what's needed. I had to remove power button, sand it down a little, scraped off glue from inside edges where old touchscreen was, followed YouTube videos. For $24, I saved $250 what apple was asking for touchscreen ( not to mention the power button problem) ... show more

  • Do not buy. 2 tried. 2 failed. Bad glue & ghost touch
Color: Black
See latest edit at bottom for details on 1 star rating. 1st installation Initially... this seemed to be a mostly viable affordable solution despite visible imperfections and 'wavy-ness' in the screen. With close attention to instructional videos I found online I completed the repair in a relatively straightforward and anal-retentive manner that took me about 3.5 hours. Everything seemed to go according to plan. However when I was completely done I noticed the glue along the right side edge of the screen did not fully adhere and there is discernable movement when I press on that edge despite ensuring I had cleaned away any old glue and made sure the screen fit in properly before exposing the adhesives and fixing it into place. I attempted to apply consistent, even pressure overnight with some books and a heavy stapler to keep the screen edge in contact overnight but it didn't solve the problem For the moment everything functions as needed but that movement along the right edge of the screen has me worried it will eventually work it's easy loose and I'll have to install another screen (a process I'm not anxious to repeat). I will update my review as things progress. Honestly, if it doesn't get any worse and continues to function properly for another few months, I'll add another star. Edit: I added an additional star since, upon hearing my concerns, the company sent me a replacement. I have not yet installed the newer one mostly due to a lack of time. However, while there is an area (near the button cable junction) that remains loose, it has not gotten worse. Another problem I have had which I cannot necessarily attribute to the replacement screen is that my iPad now seems excessively sensitive to case cover magnets which tell it when the cover is closed/opened (on multiple models). Edit: I removed 3 stars after the 1st screen began reporting phantom touches all the time making the iPad unusable. The replacement screen's glue was worse than than the first, the camera cutout is in the wrong place and entire screen keeps moving around and trying falling out while FaceTimeing. And the ghost touch problem returned. I'm going to try a different brand. ... show more

  • Use an online guide and youtube to help you on the process, go slowly!
Color: Black
This is not necessarily an easy fix, it will require some type of heat gun to help loosen up the adhesion material, however, the provided metal tool is invaluable to get between the screen and frame. Go slowly when doing this, especially if you're taking off the old home button. Use the tools provided and don't try to go fast around those thin cables. When done, the final product works awesome. Oh one minor issue, the stupid tape covering the adhesion is a bit aggravating, but that's because I was balancing the screen up with one hand and trying to remove the tape with the other. ... show more
