  • Excellent monitor

Nice 4K monitor. Works great.

  • Excellent for the Money
Style: U27P4K
This monitor is pretty damn great for $250. Is it the best monitor ever? No, and it's not gonna be good for professional color accurate use or intense gaming. Casual gaming probably. It's strengths are the price, the colors/contrast, and of course the resolution, and it's amazing for workflow and content viewing. Is HDR any good? I'm not sure. Enabling it requires changing all of my settings and I didn't see enough of a difference to bother. It is not VESA HDR certified, which means if you really want good HDR you'll have to find it somewhere else. Refresh rate and response time: this monitor has slower response time than you'd want if you want to do a lot of gaming, you'd see ghosting most likely. Color and contrast: the contrast is good, on the order of a high end TN panel from a few years ago. The color seems to be on the same order or better, but I have no good way to test this objectively. Overall, if you just want a 4k monitor and aren't too picky about anything but resolution, this will exceed your expectations. ... show more

  • HDR not supported with DisplayPort but works with HDMI?
Style: U27P4K
I love this monitor! However, there are trade-offs with this monitor. With HDMI I am able to use HDR - but at a 8bit RGB color range With DP I am able to use 10Bit YCbCr 4:4:4 color range - but no HDR The price is good though and monitor looks good, but if you value the full 4K 10bit HDR experience then this is not the monitor for you. EDIT: I updated the review to 4 stars because It was not entirely fair to judge a budget monitor with these expectations. In the end you're getting really great monitor for a really good price. For the full 4K 10bit HDR experience you simply need to search for pricier options. ... show more

  • Cheap, does the job, and has lasted 3 years with no issues
Style: U27P4K
It's still kicking. Feels like it should had died by now but it's still as good as new. If you need 4k for cheap, then I'd choose this.

  • Great value
Style: U27P4K
Picture quality is good. Brightness is good. It's not the fastest display but for the money, I couldn't find a better 4k display. I haven't used this to do any gaming and I don't think I would want to at 4k especially. Sure, you can go get a large 4k tv but the response time is sooo slow I'm using this on a 2015 macbook pro which I've used on better monitors in the past. I would buy this monitor again if I was pinched for cash. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Style: U27P4K
I’d avoid this monitor if you are looking for a 4k monitor for gaming or any other use really. First off I play on Xbox one X which is capable of running 4k at 60 fps. This monitor with the highest graphic settings while my graphics are all the way up on my xbox, appears to be worse resolution than my pre existing 1080p monitor. The frame rate is horrendous and the return process has been brutal. I recommend staying away. Also return process is awful. It’s been a week and a half since I returned this at a UPS store and I still haven’t been refunded. I looked up the UPS tracking and it says my item was received by the seller a week ago. Still haven’t received my refund. Amazon is a scam ... show more

  • Decent 4k picture for the money but very poor HDMI performance
Style: U27P4K
As a 4k monitor, this is great for work and casual use. Not sure i'd trust it for gaming, or anything requiring precise graphics. The colors are *very* off, required loads of calibration to get it anywhere near what I'd consider normal, and I just use it for programming. That said, it was like $210, so it's pretty great for that price point. IF you want to get 4k @ 60hz, you *need* to use Displayport. I don't care what the description says - neither of the HDMI ports will work for 4k@60hz. I found this out through some rigorous testing. I have an existing personal workstation, Macbook Pro M1, which is the same model as the professional workstation (MBP M1) for which I was purchasing this display. On my personal rig, I am driving a 4k@60hz display, LG, very high quality & via HDMI, for gaming and personal use. My company wouldn't splurge for that $600 panel, which is fine, so they authorized this one for my work setup I did however get the exact same USB-C to HDMI 2.0 adapter, and the exact same gold-plated HDMI cable. On port HDMI 2, the best you can get is 30hz. Even when I scaled my resolution down to 1080p, it wouldn't go any higher. On port HDMI 1, it would allow me to select 60hz all the way up to 4k, but if I set the resolution anywhere above 1080p while at 60hz, the display suddenly started dying then waking then dying again, oscillating back and forth every few seconds. I thought, maybe it's my Mac/adapter/cable - so I brought this display over to my personal Mac (driving the LG 4k@60hz), and the same thing happened - oscillating between active and powersaver mode. I then brought my LG over to the work Mac, and it worked fine at 4k@60hz. Finally I ended up finding an old USB-C to Displayport and a Displayport cable in my closet, and *that* setup got this monitor working 4k@60hz just fine. Conclusion: this monitor's HDMI ports do not support 60hz above 1080P. ... show more
