  • Pre-Link monster era play is impossible.
Eh. I mean it is Yu-Gi-Oh and it has a lot of cards but the the MAJOR issues I have is that you can't take back anything you do if you misclick or change your mind about playing a contact-fusion/tribute/ritual/anything you cannot back out of it even though it's before selecting what monsters you have to get rid of; it's not like you did something like reveal the monster you're trying to play or you flipped up a set card already like polymerization to initiate the summon. ALSO you have to play using the new rule set where there's only two extra deck monsters that could be on the field at a time unless you use link monsters. That utterly ruins the game experience prior to the introduction of link monsters which is basically 90% of all the eras of yugioh. You're playing in the 5D era campaign with the story decks? Well you only get to summon ONE syncro monster at a time. Trying to play a classic junk syncro deck? No sir, can't do. You're playing the GX era of the campaign? You only get ONE fusion monster to play. Wanted to play gladiator beast deck? Well you can't unless your bring link cards to an era where they never existed. This rule would be fine if they allowed you to change the rule sets you played with and how the eras of yugioh we're meant to be played by. Unfortunately there's nothing that can change the rules and it's hard coded to be the modern rules as of the 2019 card game. Oddly enough when this game was out for other consoles back in 2015 they didn't have the new rule of only 2 extra deck card slots and the game would be fine like that with the classic era of Yu-Gi-Oh. But with modern Yu-Gi-Oh rules you cannot truly play Yu-Gi-Oh how it was meant to be played back in the day. ... show more

  • IT'S TIME TO DUEL!!
If you're a fan of the Yugioh series and played the Yugioh games before then you know what to expect. This Yugioh game has a story mode and each story is based off the different characters from each entry in the series. It also has a Multiplayer mode if you're into challenging people online, then it has tutorial if you need help figuring it out but overall gameplay is fantastic. I would definitely recommend this to anyone if you like Yugioh so don't wait and buy it today! ... show more

  • Why Do I Have To Use Links??
Why am I required to use links for the pre-link era? it makes the synchro/XYZ eras almost unplayable. Additionally, why am I unable to undo certain actions during the campaign? I'm not playing online I should be able to undo certain actions. This game could be 10/10, EASILY.

  • Played better yugioh games
Kind of feels like a down from all the other yugioh games I played. Story mode sucks, can only buy one card pack at a time and cant tell if the cards I got are new or repeats. Dislike the deck edit and can only have two cards from your side deck on the field at a time which is limited and looks stupid in the middle. I honestly would wait till this game drops in price because it wasn't worth $40 dollars. ... show more

  • A Mixed Bag
Have you played Legacy of the Duelist for the PS4? Well this is the link monster updated version of that with some minor tweaks. The rules and banlist have been updated with the layout of the field changing to reflect this. On the plus side, several of the campaign duels where you try and play with decks themed around cards that were used in the anime have certain newer cards put in to make them work better. (Weevil, I'm looking at you.) You also have much of the previous content that was dlc in the previous game standard here. However aside from that not much has changed and given how sparse the VRAINs campaign is, it is very clear they will hold cards from that era back to sell as dlc. (I have yet to see any dlc, but I have not gone looking.) There are literally only three duels for VRAINS. If they do it in the same manner then it will be $5.00 for specific duels and characters and the cards associated with them. I am fine with dlc itself, but I do not necessarily agree with how they do it here. It is fine for something to fool around with different deck builds, but I am left wanting. ... show more

  • A money grubber
Gameplay is fixed. You can’t play cards from the extra deck the way that you used to be able to! And after contacting support to see if they would be fixing it, they told me that you absolutely have to play with the new rules, this requires that if you want to play multiple cards from the extra deck (even if they aren’t link monsters) then you would need to have a link monster in the extra monster zone and then you would need to summon a monster to the monster zones that the link arrows point to in order to summon anything else from the extra deck ... show more

  • The most complete yugioh experience!
I am absolutely addicted to this game. It's so great to finally have a portable yugioh game that includes the latest rules. Really hoping it sells well because there's no reason Konami couldn't keep updating it with dlc as more sets come out. The cards included are great as well!
