A friend recommended this over a year ago, and I put off the purchase until recently. I should NOT have waited. My kids love this (all 8 and under). My oldest two pop in a good book, and listen to it while falling asleep. They love checking out the little updates every morning, and seeing that the screen can do. They're learning to understand time, and love the little clock. While the "nightlight" is not as bright as they like, I can understand why. The controls are easy to use, and paired with the app are an excellent feature. Being able to set the max volume levels for day and night time is awesome, and keeps them from blasting the story so loud we can hear downstairs. The battery holds great, and lets them move from the charge, into the shelf between them during bedtime to hear the story better. Cannot recommend this enough. Well worth the price. ... show more

I love the yoto player so much! I love how there's parental controls in the app. I love the little pixel pictures it makes for the different cards. There's so much audio content, too. The brightness will auto adjust to the environment. It connected to my app easily. The instructions provided were really simple. It works great. The sound quality is perfect. I do wish there were other colors but I'll probably just put stickers on it. ... show more

We love this. I gave it to my boys (7&5) for Christmas. It’s the 30th and we’ve listened to almost all the free book samplings. My favorite is my 7 year old is asking to hear the rest of old classic chapter books like The Wizard of Oz, chronicles of Narnia, and James and the Giant Peach. I can tell we’ll be investing a lot into this thing, but honestly it’s worth it. It helps them want to go to bed and inspires them to love books. The daily podcast is so cute. My 5 year old asks to hear the “would you rather” part. They keep it really interesting for kids. The radio itself has great sound. I’m no sound expert, but it has a really good range and it’s very smooth. My 5 year old has a British accent now and on our walk the other day he asked “why do people leave their rubbish in the street .” I still can’t stop laughing. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Amazing! Very impressed with quality, ease of use, and features. There are so many cards to purchase and you can even make your own! My only regret is not buying it sooner! For reference my daughter is 1 1/2

This is the best gift ever. I bought it for my 5y/o’s birthday and we are all loving this thing. The sleep music is amazing, the yoto music channel, the daily podcast… it’s all just SO well done. Whoever is curating the music is a genius. We had purchased with some extra cards which are nice but on its own the machine is just great. I do wish the nightlight was a little less bright or adjustable but who really cares! ... show more

I have mixed feelings about the Yoto Player. On the one hand, it is clearly durable, simple, and functional; but on the other hand, I had absolutely no idea what the heck it was until I bought it. They sell this as a magical media player solution for kids, but it was hard to tell what the hardware was or how it operated. This is a cloud based 150 GB MP3 player which is controlled through the app on your phone. It only works via the cloud and will generally be looking to communicate with the cloud via your wifi. The cards act as playlists and what is on those playlists, you will have to buy those cards to get any meaningful description of what they put on them. Vague descriptions of things they have determined are good for a given category does not help me understand what those things are. If the makers were direct and told me what I was buying, I would not have bought the Yoto, but I can see why people like it. If you like the cloud and manage all of your content from your phone, I'm sure this would work for your situation. I bought it as virtually all of my friends like the Yoto and swear by it. The proprietary content on thier platform is woke and all about the current thing, whatever that may be. You can generate your own content if you like and associate whichever content you care for with a given card, so you can procure your own experience. An interesting product, that I wish I understood before I bought it ... show more

Our six year old grandson loves. First thing in the morning he listens to Yoto daily and goes to bed listening to a story. One nice thing is you can record their own books on it, very easy. Super simple for him to run the controls and parents can customize settings.
