My son got a board for XMAS, and now I wanted to skate with & teach him. I have a 1989 board with a worn tail and good hardware. Purchased the Yocaher Black 8.5" deck. This size works perfectly with old school 8" trucks. You can see in the picture how wide it is compared to my son's board. I did need to drill extra holes to accommodate the old trucks (longer base), and everything mounted up great. With this new deck I used Black Widow Grip Tape (Amazon Item B004155HM6) and replaced the Riser/Screws with VJ 12mm Riser w/ 1.75 inch screw (Amazon Item B01B8M9R34). The black finish on the bottom of the board looks absolutely stunning! This product was packaged extremely well and with care. Not only was the deck wrapped entirely in plastic, but the two tail ends were protected with pieces of bubble wrap. I am super happy with the quality and appearance of this deck. The media could not be loaded. This plain skateboard deck is PERFECT. It is great quality and does not break easily. It is easy to paint on once you use a bit if sand paper. I purchased an 8.25 deck, and it is the perfect size.
