I was looking for a flag staff that was sturdy, and would allow me to fly the Colors without worry of something breaking - I don't fly them in the rain but I do light them up at night. This is impressive quality, well made and very easy to assemble. I did make a template for the mounting holes out of pasteboard (thin single layer cardboard). One suggestion - the wood screws this comes with should be replaced with high quality made in the USA hardware. The ones that it comes with are of foreign manufacture, I think made of a mild cheese. Even though I tapped pilot holes into a two by four, the heads still stripped out. I replaced them with high quality US manufactured hex head marine rated hardware.
