This tool box is ok. It does collapse well and has all the tiers in which to organize your items. It's very portable and easy to move around and access everything. However, the metal is on the thinner side- it doesn't feel very sturdy. This is a great box! I am excited to get this and put it to work in my craft room. It will hold so many of the small pieces that I use to put projects together. Because of the gorgeous glossy red color, I believe I will use it for Christmas goodies. Having these Christmas items separated from the other pieces will make it a lot easier to find and work with them when I want to make holiday projects. There’s lots of room in this box and it folds up into a nice container. The trays spread out so I can see more of what I have. That is a thing for me…I like to see all the stuff, so using this will really make it nice for that. Frankly I would be cautious about overfilling it with weighty stuff like a lot of wrenches or something. As a craft storage box for small items it’s going to be less heavy. I wouldn’t say it’s professional quality for heavy tools for a mechanic though. I have a box that is, and it’s much heavier. I think the folding mechanisms would give way too fast on this if used every day, and it would be hard to close up if too much weight were in it. It would work really fine for a DIY home tool box though. If I didn't already have a box for that I would definitely consider another for my home tools...hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, you know...the fix it box. Put some of those things in it, and it would make a super wedding or new-home gift. Great box. Amazing for crafters. The red is great and very classic. They should make this in some additional glossy colors and market it to the crafters out there…seriously. I like it. ... show more

    • Disappointed, very heavy but yet not well constructed
Mine came a little wonky with some scratches in the paint and handles that needed to be adjusted. I don't really know how else to describe it. It isn't as well made as I would like, but yet it is a very heavy tool box. It does the trick for holding tools, but it is just not as good a quality as I would have liked. It isn't horrible, but it certainly isn't great. In my opinion, this is a very average tool box and thus it gets 3 stars. ... show more

Apparently dimensions aren't important? It is made of a thin gauge steel and has a significant amount of play in the hinge components. I probably would have given it 3 stars if I hadn't previously purchased another nearly identical box for the same price that is of significantly higher quality. It might be ok to keep in a shop where it's not getting moved around much but it won't hold up to anything beyond that. ... show more

I actually use this for my networking go box. It’s perfectly sized to carry the tools, testers as well as RJ45 ends. It also is a statement piece as well, in my opinion. Kind of hi-tech meets old school. The box feels pretty solid and all the hinge movement is smooth. I have some reservation about the finish. I do not believe is powder coated and just regular paint used on it. Given that I won’t be banging it around it should last though. ... show more

What a great tool box. I remember my grandfather having one just like this. My son in law has taken this one and filled it with his really large half inch drive sockets and his air wrenches. In full it probably weighs 40lbs. There is absolutely no flex at all with it. It feels like it could easily hold twice that weight. Plenty of room in the shelf’s for all the sockets and the pneumatic tools in the bottom. I think he has all the way up to 1-1/8 socket on the shelf’s with plenty of clearance to still shut completely. ... show more

This is a basic tool box. A bit awkward to open. I find the compartments too narrow to store anything that has some width to it. There are some sharp edges that you need to be careful not to cut yourself when accessing your tools. I won’t use it as my go to toolbox. I got this YATOINTO 18-Inch Metal Cantilever Tool Box 3 layers Portable Tool Box Tool Box Organizer Fold Out Organizer Storage for Home Studio Auto Repair Factory 18" * 8 "* 8" in recently and it works great. I love how this opens up with all the compartments, this is why I specifically got this one. I have a ton of different drill bits and there all over my shop and I wanted a tool box where I could keep them sorted. This works great. The bottom of the box is big enough to hold some of my smaller cases with bits in them and the compartments are a good size to keep others separated. My one question I had when I ordered it was that it said it was waterproof but I wandered how with the way it opened. There’s a lip on the top of each side when you shut it. It doesn’t matter which side you shut first the right or the left, the lip will fold over the other side to keep the water out. This is also made with a thick metal as well and the hinges are metal and feel very strong too. Overall a excellent tool box to keep things organized. This is a very solidly constructed tool box and I expect it to last a long time. If you take care of it I honestly think this could last you a life time. I would highly recommend it ... show more
