  • It.. works?
I'm not a musician. Got this to introduce my kids to as many instruments as possible. Sort of to be expected, it's a complicated instrument, even just to start. It seems to be constructed and maintained similarly to a "real" violin. The build quality is sort of questionable. There's some DIY to be had and it feels like it will fall apart if you look at it funny. That being said, it does make sound if you follow the (not great) instruction manual. The manual covers pretty much everything to need to get going. For the price, compared to "real" violins it's a great value. Objectively speaking, it isn't the greatest. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Size: 4/4
I ordered 3 of these beginner violins for myself, my daughter, and granddaughter to learn to play on. This is a nice looking violin with decent sound, but the cheap, plastic tuning keys will not hold (constantly loosening up) and after playing a few notes or even just setting the instrument down, it's in need of retuning...you can't even get through a simple song without having to stop and constantly retune. This is consistent with all 3 of them, no matter how securely you try to ensure the tuning keys are seated properly in the neck. It's definitely one of those things where, if you are serious about learning the instrument, you'd be better advised to spend the extra money to get a decent quality violin. ... show more
