My new puppy was enjoying a little too much freedom in the yard, so I purchased 16 panels to create a fence to divide the yard into two sections. My adult dog and people use the gate to go back and forth in the yard. The gate has two sliding latches which each require one hand to open. Using two binder clips and a piece of twine, I am now able to open the gate with a single pull. The gate door, however, is a little twisted, so the gate pins don't always get behind the latches when closing. Otherwise, my 15lb puppy has hurled herself at this fence and it's not showing any damage. A portion is also sprayed by the sprinklers, so we'll see if that ultimately rusts. If using this as a straight fence, I would buy a few extra panels to make it zig zag for improved stability. I would also see if you could secure it with more than just the provided rods. These are just ok. I have mine secured in 3 places into the ground with the rods, but it's also strapped to a porch column in the middle. If using as an enclosed pen, I think the rods will work just fine. For the price (under $200), I think this is a good investment that can be used for other applications or areas when my puppy grows up. ... show more

I like the gate!! Mostly positive, but disappointed about one thing!! It can easily be moved, although you probably want to put it someplace it doesn’t have to be moved often. I purchased 24 panels so each time we cut grass we have to move it. We are on 3 arces and my husband tries to use the push mower or weed eater as least as possible ;)) If you only have 8 panels I’m sure it’s much easier to move though . The only thing that I’m disappointed about is one of the latches on the doors has already started rusting. We’ve only had it up for 3 weeks, bc we received it right b4 going on vacay. So it took us a few weeks to get it put up, but we’ve only used it 4-5 times and the latch has rusted!!! All the other pieces still look good though. I hope they stay that way! Overall I’m glad I made the decision to purchase the 24 panels. ... show more

I like the quality of the metal fence pieces and I like that it came with stakes that not only hold it together, but also holds it to the ground. I am using only half of it to add to the rest of our fenced off area and to have a door to exit. Installed two sets of 16 today, one was an older set that never got installed and it was wider than the newer set I just recently purchased. 27/32. Did not notice going in but it worked out OK. The way we did it I don’t think I would’ve trusted just a little push rods. We put rebar at every corner and near the doors throughout especially on that long back stretch. Then zip tied the rebar to the fence just to give it some more support. Only trying to keep a wiener dog in and he usually doesn’t try to get out of the fence. He just wants back in the house so it should not be an issue. Very curious to see how this holds up to Rust & weather. Live in Florida. It’s the rainy, season and brutal Heat. for the price It looks nice and if you’re using a small set I’m sure it’s much sturdier. Will try to update if there’s any issues. ... show more

Not the best picture but the long rod stakes provided that also connect the panels could not handle the hard dirt. The quality of the rods is a very thin grade of steel that bends easily. I recommend grabbing strong camping stakes that fit the width of the bottom run of your panel. These rods are ideal only with a soft grass application. Also, the rods drag so multiple ppl are needed if you want to move it around. For added strength during high winds, we applied zip ties, so have those handy. Not a design flaw, just a suggestion for your own outdoor adventure location. And lastly, the double latch system up top and down below for the door did not work well for us. It requires that you lean over and hold both latches up in order to swing open. Not ideal while handling your dog, water bowls or anything for that matter. I just had my husband cut the wire rod that held the bottom one in place. The one on top was enough. Overall this was a great buy and I have plans to get more to enlarge the dog-pen. I’m hoping they come up with a storage type duffel bag for easier transport, but our zip ties did the trick. ... show more

Our backyard fence was in disrepair and after getting a new dog, we decided it would be best to be able to let her have access to the space to run off leash. Unfortunately, getting a completely new fence was not in the budget. I ordered the 16-panel, 40 inch fence to utilize the panels however we needed to. We used them to not only complete the fence corners but to also connect the current fence to our house, therefore creating a completely closed-off back yard. The 16-panel fence came with two gates, which was great, so we used them on either side of our house. The stability is good (there are long "pins" that are pushed into the ground to hold each panel in place) but we also added some zip ties to shore it up a bit more. It is perfect for our fairly low-key, mid-sized Aussie Doodle. She sees it as a barrier and does not try to climb over it. I was happy I ordered the 40 inch fence. For a dog her size, I wouldn't recommend anything shorter. We don't allow her out in the yard for hours on end but feel comfortable letting her out to play even if we are not watching her constantly.
