Hey, keeps my cello from sliding. Which is good. It's not causing me to invent new curses, want to rip it up, or find someway to spite the company that made it. So, all good. Not sure what else to say. It could double as a slingshot perhaps. Maybe you could boobytrap a door with it somehow. Purchased as requested by my son's Suzuki cello instructor. Works perfectly. Heavy duty plastic anchoring piece and adjustments piece. The strap itself in very thick, I can't imagine this ever tearing or fraying. Makes sense why this is the staple endpin anchor for students and seasoned players alike. ... show more

I was disappointed when I got this product. I knew it was going to be made of plastic, but the anchor end, the D-ring part, is very light and feels rather feeble. I would have much preferred it to be metal, but I suppose I got what I paid for. The other end, the endpin, is made of heavy rubber. It feels good, and I wish the anchor end had the same weight. The worst part about this endpin is that the strap doesn't hold the D-ring in place. There's no mechanism to hold the silly thing still, and I often have to turn the ring around so that the strap lies on the flat part of the D. Nevertheless, it's useful, and works a whole lot better than a donut. You don't even have to put water on the bottom. But make sure you always have a donut with you, just in case! There are chairs don't have four legs. Like another reviewer, I'm 5'8" and I've got plenty of strap. It's not too short. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE (5/31/15): I've had this anchor strap for about two years now, and I'm still using it. The plastic D-ring hasn't broken open like I expected it to. However, the strap has frayed and there's a few long, stray threads that I'm too lazy to chop off. So, in short, over two years of heavy use, I've only had cosmetic complaints with this endpin. It's a perfectly good purchase and provides a lot more stability and sense of security than donuts do! As such, I am raising my review to 4 stars (it was 3 stars before). ... show more

I've been playing the cello for something close to a decade now, and the Xeros endpin anchor has always been my favorite way to secure my endpin. Unlike doughnuts it stays in place no matter what, and is durable enough for years of use. I recently lost mine and had to replace it. Naturally I chose another Xeros. I was a bit bummed because in the anchor I lost had a thick, sturdy plastic D ring to secure it to the chair leg, which I prefer over the slimmer plastic O rings like the one pictured. But upon arrival, I found that they apparently have a new rendition of the anchor, this time with a giant aluminum carabiner style D ring. While cheap (you can bend it with your hands if you try) it is practical, now I can just clip my anchor onto my cello case, and hopefully not lose it again! Another difference I found is that users of the plastic D and O ring styles may remember the treaded rubber grip on the bottom of the endpin cup. This new aluminum D carabiner version has a smooth rubber grip, which while it clings very nicely to clean floors may have problems on dusty/dirty floors. Further testing will prove if this is true, but even if it is, I'd rather use the Xeros rather than any other strap or doughnut. ... show more

I just received this today so I can’t speak yet as to its function or durability. I chose this strap based on 2 main factors: the reviews and being made in the USA. There are lots of straps on Amazon that get as good reviews as this one does so I guess the deciding factor was where it’s made. I’m very disappointed that it isn’t as pictured. It isn’t even as some reviewers pictures showed it. The D-ring is plastic. NOT happy about that. It doesn’t have the carabeener hinge as a customer reviewers pics showed it to. The description doesn’t state what material the ring is made of. The pictures (both for the listing and from reviewer) lead me to believe the ring was metal. Maybe I didn’t do my due diligence and just jumped on this one because it was US made. ... show more

    • This endpin anchor has transformed my cello experience.
Many traditional rock-stops I had used in the past left me extremely anxious and weary while performing. Despite proper precautions, there was always a chance my cello or the rock-stop would slip, and it would frequently happen to me at inopportune moments. I would have to support the instrument with my knees or I would secure the endpin or rock-stop with my foot, which negatively affected my playing. With this endpin anchor, though, I don't have to worry about any of that. The D-ring is secured by the chair, so there's almost zero chance of it slipping or losing its hold. And for me, there is plenty of strap length. I'm about 183 cm tall (~6'), but I prefer playing in more of a vertical position. I can see some concern about sufficient length if you prefer playing with your endpin extended far out ahead of you, but this will probably suit most people. I highly recommend you consider an anchored endpin rest rather than a rock-stop. It's certainly helped me out a lot! ... show more
