I ordered this to keep my pool pump o-ring lubricated and leak free as it had been a while since I put any grease on it. This lubricating grease is great - it restored several other seals I will talk about later. This kit comes in a bag with two packages of grease and a brush. The brush is a good idea but I ended up just squirting it on whatever I wanted to put it on and then rubbing it in with my finger and thumb. That worked far better - the brush did work good for prying off the seal from the pump lid though. What I was the most impressed about is I figured I would try this on my timer box seal and my salt water generator box seals and it seemed to instantly restore them to what they used to look and feel like. I did not realize how dry and harder they had become but this grease just made them look new again. (I took a picture of one of the seals done so hopefully you can see). Overall, great price for two tubes of grease and it does not take a lot to lubricate something so I will be using this for a while. When I run out of this, I will be buying some more - recommended!! ... show more

    • It's silicone grease
There are some products that are simple to review and others, such as this grease, that aren't as results are not immediately obvious. This is silicone grease. It looks like silicone grease, feels like silicone grease, and applies like silicone grease. I've used it on a few o-rings (pool chlorinator and whole house filter) and it worked as it expected. Silicone grease (also called plumbers grease) is designed to protect rubber o-rings and gaskets (rather than react and dissolve them like some greases can) and provide lubrication. The chlorinator that I used this grease on is particularly tough on the o-ring seal as the gas is very corrosive and causes the o-ring to swell in short order making the cover prone to leaks and nearly impossible to remove. So far it's worked as expected but whether this grease is better or worse than other silicone grease I've used in the past will take about a year to find out. What I can say is that I much prefer this packaging (tubes) over the plastic two piece jar style containers I've purchased in the past as it's easier to apply and there is little chance that the cover will come off and the grease getting contaminated with dirt. Overall I'm very pleased with this grease so far and in the future I'll be certain to get it in a tube as opposed to the other containers. ... show more

I keep several bags dedicated to plumbing in my remodeling and repair work, and a tube of silicone grease is always available for reinstalling cartridges or O rings after soldering, and similar tasks. You don't need much grease for each job, though, and a large tube tends to get damaged in my bags. Plus, it becomes difficult to get the grease out as it gets toward the end. These tubes are perfectly sized, though. Enough grease for dozens of jobs, but in a tube that will not take up needless space in my bags. The grease itself is clear and appears to be the correct type. They include a brush, which is not really useful for me, but others may find it so. Having two tubes in the package means I can keep a tube in two bags in case I pick up the wrong one on the way out to a jobsite. Recommended without reservation. ... show more

I knew I should be greasing the O-rings on our whole-home prefilter and bathroom fixtures. I'd used Vaseline in the past, but I know that you should use silicone grease not petrolium. I used my finger to apply this during our last filter change, and it made a big difference. I need to disassemble to the shower handle next! I’ve no idea why, but finding food grade silicone locally is next to impossible. So happy to have this now, as it is a perfect fit for the o-rings of our whole house filter. The brush is an added bonus that makes it easier to properly apply the grease to the area you need to. Time will tell if this is good, in the way that the o ring does or does not hold up, but for now, I’m. Dry happy with this purchase. Best thing about this is it’s clear! Have used it on sink pipes at work and it’s worked really well. Also used it in a few door hinges to stop squeaking.

Two Of These Tubes Will Last You Years And Years. I Used This Stuff To Put On Rails And Gears Of A VCR Also In My Old Cd Player Gears Everything Works Like It Should. This Stuff Is Food Grade Too So You Can Use It On Pipes And Tubes For Small Tight O Rings. Not White Looking Like In The Pictures On The Page It Looks Like Triple Bond Ointment For Cuts And Scrapes. ... show more
