  • The pages fall out
Love the content of this book. It is a really great foundation for different upper elementary writing. However, we have been using it for only a month, and the pages are falling out - literally just falling out. The binding appears to be really weak. I hate that such a great resource is such a poor product. ... show more

  • Excellent learning material
This book is awesome! As a homeschool mom I was looking for an engaging way to teach my child basic writing. This book delivered more than I expected. First, the illustrations are bright and fun. Every page is exploding with color. Next, the content includes excellent writing prompts for kids in the 7-10 age range. Finally, I'm very pleased with this purchase and have already recommended this to several other parents. ... show more

  • Great illustrated, step by step, easy to understand, writing lessons.
Loving this book for both my first AND fourth grader as I attempt to home school my kids during Corona virus. (It's not going well, they mostly play video games.) Breaks writing assignments down in a way that is super easy to understand. Bright pictures all the way through. Like a step by step cookbook with tons of pictures. ... show more

  • This is a "gem" in my writing craft read-alouds
I am a firm believer of having kids look at author's craft as they are writing their own narrative or play or fairy tale. This is a "winner". It can be used as a read-aloud for there is a genre-specific story however on each page there's a high-lighted box that reveals a characteristic of the writing that is the discussion starter. It is written for primary grades (each story is like a mini picture book) but I think can be used in older grades as a very simplistic refresher or introduction to build on. ... show more

  • Great Book for Young Writers
I bought this for my 2nd grade daughter who loves writing and talks about wanting to be an author when she grows up. It is a terrific book that gives the basics on writing all types of genres with beautiful illustrations.

  • Great tool for in the home or classroom
This is a great book for teaching a young writer the different parts of a story and how to apply the to writing. It takes a familiar story "Little Red Riding Hood" and shows the young writer how to develop new stories of their own. It's a great tool for at home or in the classroom.
