The Wooden Cremation Urn and Keepsakes with Engraved Cross have beautiful detail, color and tones in the natural wood. The listing states they are handmade. I am not sure that is the case. There is missing stain and finish pretty consistently along the edges of the Urn and Keepsakes. It is missing on the sides and top of the large urn and the same is the case in the keepsakes. It seems to me stain consistently missing along the edges like this wouldn't be caused when it is stained by hand but rather by some machine process. Though I could be wrong, and a carpenter likely knows better than I do. There are so many edges where the stain is missing on all 3 of the boxes it was hard to keep track when counting and photographing them all would have been tedious. Photo 1 shows the missing stain along the top and bottom right side of the large urn. Photo 5 shows a different edge of the large urn that is also missing stain. There is also a rather significant nick in the wood on the top of one of the small keepsakes. There is stain missing along the top of the keepsake and the top right side of the same keepsake. (see photo 6) There are other smaller nicks along the sides of the other small keepsake. Though again, it would be tedious to provide photos with all of the nicks. The way to get into the urn and keepsakes is not intuitive. There are no directions that come with the urn and keepsakes. I put them aside because I couldn't figure out how to open them. I went back after the fact, and it finally occurred to me to remove the screws. Some people might appreciate the security the screws in bottom offer. I would personally prefer however that the urn and keepsakes have a different design to make it easier and more intuitive to open the boxes. I really loved the Wooden Cremation Urn and Keepsakes with Engraved Cross and Keepsakes when I saw them in the listing. I got them for a family member's ashes that are still in the plastic box provided by the funeral home. Variations happen in natural wood. Though I feel the missing stain, and damage is excessive and takes away from the beauty of the boxes. It happens that one person can have a quality problem with a product and many or most others do not. Again, there are people that do appreciate the screw secured bottom. So, the Wooden Cremation Urn and Keepsakes could be perfect for some people, but they didn't work out so well for me. ... show more
