I LOVE this shirt. Sun protective, very light weight, great pockets. Would not provide warmth. I'm going to central Africa during their summer and I think this will fit the bill. Could wear on its own or over T-shirts for sun protection. Does run a little large-if you are between sizes go to the smaller one but I would not size a whole size down.     • Different shirts not just different colors.
I had purchased this shirt in white and fell in love with the material, style and cut, so much so that I wanted the identical shirt in teal. Upon receiving the teal shirt I was exceptionally disappointed to see that it was not the same light weight material as the original purchase in white. But decided not to be to concerned as I still like the "Columbia Type" style and decided to keep it and did not bother to try it on right then as I incorrectly presumed it to be the same cut. It wasn't till a week or so later that I had an opportunity to wear it and was further disappointed to discover the cut was very baggy. I knew the material was not the same but with in minutes I was taking the shirt off as the material was too rough and scratchy to be worn directly against the skin. It felt like I was wearing a canvas tent. I did not return it as It will make suitable over shirt in the winter, however this was not its intended use. I received this shirt today (super-fast shipping) and I am pleasantly surprised. As others have noted, it's almost Columbia-quality without the hefty Columbia price tag. It's soft and silky and feels great. I am glad I read others' reviews and did not order it too large. XXL fit nicely, and I'm not small (5'6", 240#). It doesn't completely button at the waist but I rarely wear these shirts closed. It has a bit of stretch. I bought Army Green. It will go with a lot of things, which is why I wanted it. I plan to bring it on a cruise this summer. Unlike my nylon fishing shirt from another manufacturer, this one looks like it will not wrinkle too badly. Polyester does not seem to wrinkle as much as nylon, which looks like you slept in it after 5 minutes. I look forward to wearing this good-looking, comfortable shirt. I purchased this shirt mainly for yard work. The fabric is a very lightweight somewhat billowy polyester. I think because it is made of polyester that they make the claim of UV protection and not because of some coating or process to the fabric. It does protect my arms and neck from the sun although I stay out for only a couple of hours at a time and try to avoid the hottest times of the day. The cut is ample so if using for yard work or outdoor activities then this is a big plus. I sometimes find that shirts pull around my midsection but this was loose and I could move freely. The sleeve length seemed a bit short which luckily worked out perfectly for me. I usually have to roll the cuffs of long sleeve blouses but not on this one. Again, for outdoor activities that is a plus. The cuff is loose and easy to slip the shirt on and off. I live in a hot climate area and found this shirt, even with the venting, to be hot. I suppose if there is a breeze or the temperatures are not in the high 80s then it would be more comfortable. If I'm working in the full sun, I get hot. If it is overcast or in the shade then shirt is more comfortable. Being polyester, the weave is tight so there is some protection from small twigs and leaves if you need to reach in or lean over bushes or hedges. The color is not a vibrant as what you see online. It more of a lighter green with grayish tones. I do like it though. The shirt, because made of that lightweight polyester, sits well on the body and I find it flattering with no clinging. Brought this for an upcoming African safari. I did a test run on it yesterday when the temp in NJ hit 96 degrees. I was amazed at how comfortable and cool this shirt was in all that heat and humidity! I cx-tie it to give it a fashion twist because I got the medium and it's a bit long on me. I am a 38DD chest and the site recommended X- large but I thought that would be like wearing a sheet so I got the medium and it fits well; lots of room in the shoulders but there is the slightest little opening at the 4th button down if I lean back without gathering the front of the shirt. I might try the large on my next order although that might swamp me everywhere else since I'm only 5 feet tall. Will have to wash in (cold water only) so I can see how fast it drys. I would have preferred the sleeves to be held at 3/4 position by regular loops instead of the little stripped elastic holders but that is not a deal breaker. As others stated, this shirt comes in a tiny bag. It does come out very wrinkled. Based on reviews that it runs large and to size down, I did. Big mistake! I normally do an XL but went L. I wasn’t sure about this one I first took it out of the package. It seemed sheer. I tried it anyway. Turns out once it’s on, it’s not exposing. It’s incredibly cool, comfortable, provides that sun protection, and I’ve worn it outside in the 100° heat for gardening, and was perfectly comfortable. Bonus, no sunburn! So far, it’s only been washed twice, but it washes well and if you hang it up immediately out of the dryer on low heat, the wrinkles are minimal. Somehow, it manages to maintain a feminine fit, which is some thing because I have a narrower waist and big girls (36E) so with most button downs if they’re large enough for my chest, they wanted up looking boxy, but this is not the case.
