The mid section elastic creates an empire effect so it's a flattering style. Would look best on a large busted person (or use a padded bra), otherwisethe top gaps. Fabric looks high end, not too heavy and not too thin. For reference I'm about 150# and 5'1". I plan to shorten the length by about 6". Not a fan of the "prairie " styling so I plan to remove the bodice string. Also plan to replace the brass buttons with something fancier and take in the sides from the waistline down. Lol...in spite of all these planned changes I really like the dress. I think it will look best with a black sweater topper and is something than can be worn for a variety of occasions. ... show more

I wasn't sure about the yellow coloring but it is amazing and got lots of compliments when I wore it to work. I was afraid it would be see thru as no underskirt attached to the dress. I checked several times (including in the sunlight) and could not see thru the material. I did this experiment without a slip to ensure valid testing. It flowed nicely and was very comfortable. I've been working really hard on losing weight. I've lost 30lbs, another 35lbs my goal. So i decided to reward myself with a cute dress to a party i'm going to in 3 days. I honestly i expected the worst. I chose this since most of my weight is in my tummy so i felt if it sinched a little under my breasts i could 'hide' my tummy with the full skirt then put on some heels to finish the look. (sorry no pics my cworthless) It was a HUGE success! So much so i'm off to buy another one before the cut or color is no longer in fashion. I really loved this dress, by only complaint is how it’s a little tight in the armpit area. I could have gotten a medium but then it would have been way too long and the small size was already long enough. I’m 5ft so very short but with some heels I was able to manage. It was very comfortable to wear and light for a hot day. After washing it it did not loose color (washed on cold water) and for drying I let it dry just a little less than 5 minutes in the dryer and then let it air dry (like I do to all my dresses). Pink B medium. I am 5'4" and 127lbs, chest 34 DDD, waist 28. This dress is amazing. It fits right off the rack, no altering required. I am so in love with the dress. I instantly ordered a second one. The cut and fit of this dress will fit most body types right away, with no alterations. it is actually a genius design. The smocked area, below the chest, has a lot of stretch but is still super flattering with no bulky bulging. The elastic at the neck and shoulders can be worn off, or on, the shoulder without being tight or looking weird. If you are considering this dress, just buy it.
