The starter violin is great quality. Comes with a beautiful case and everything you need to start your little one. Some have complained of the smell, but it smells great to me like a newly made wood instrument. It comes with a tuner. The setup instructions are a little simple for this instrument, I would suggest bringing it to a professional for setup and tuning, I found it a little daunting. So I’m what you might call a… Musician. And by that I mean, I actually play everything except the violin, but I have experience with one. This one is beautiful for its price and came with lots and lots of extras. However, I would spend some time online learning how to figure all the stuff out like I’ve done. The bow seems of good quality as well as the violin. My only real complaint, and this is a true complaint is that the tuners seem extremely cheap, and do not seem to hold their place. When it comes to the violin itself, it appears to sound pretty good and not super super cheap. Time will tell whether or not this will last, but I can definitely see issues in the future with the tuning knobs. ... show more

I bought this violin as my first violin. It was missing items. It does not have a instruction manual or the template for the cords. The bow also had strings broken and hanging off. I would not buy this again. Not a good buy

I guess we got what we paid for, but it was pretty poor quality. The strings broke when we weren’t even touching them. The bridge would not remain in place for any length of time. Don’t waste your time with this instrument.

My daughter wanted to learn violin so we got her this set. It seems to have everything she will need to get started. Everything stores nicely in the case. I noticed a few mention the smell. We left the case open for two days then placed a dryer sheet in it. No more foul smell.
