This was very easy to set up. As far as I can tell, it does everything that is advertised. I set it up in a 2004 Honda that originally didn't have Bluetooth or an Aux input. I used a different adapter kit to give the vehicle bluetooth and aux through OEM stereo, and I found that this was able to work seamlessly with the bluetooth adapter I installed. Basically you set up CarPlay on the thing, set the audio output to be bluetooth, and then connect your phone to the car bluetooth. I'm not sure how the whole thing works, but on an iPhone in the Bluetooth settings it shows it is connected to the car bluetooth, but not the CarPlay head unit, but it works without issue, CarPlay is displayed and audio comes out of the car speakers. In settings you can turn of the irritating boot sound (it also turns of audio feedback when you tap buttons), and you can change the boot logo. It looks great with the Honda logo on a black background. This isn't mentioned in the instructions, and is a very simple "hack". Here is how I got it to work: Put your boot logo on root of sd card and it will automatically update when you turn on the system. It will boot up say it is reading the TF (micro SD) card and then it will say on the screen that the boot logo has been updated. It will show the new logo the next time the unit is powered on. Remove the boot logo from the sd card otherwise it will update every time you turn on the system. Boot logo must be named: boot_logo.jpg Also compress the jpg (into zip) and put that on the card too, so there should be two files boot_logo.jpg boot_logo.zip Boot Logo must be 100kb or less and Resolution of 1024x600 px with 72px density. If it doesn't follow these specific parameters, it will either not work, or the boot logo will be a black screen. ... show more

    • Super Easy Setup - Great Way to Add Android Auto to My Car

My 2013 Town & Country minivan already had a backup camera, nice FM radio, and many of the other things that come with this device. The only thing I needed was the Android Auto feature. I plugged it in, connected it to my cell phone via bluetooth, and it just worked. I'm also using the dashcam that came with it so I moved my old dashcam to my wife's car. I like the large screen, the intuitive interface, and it's many features (although I'm not using most of them) for a great price. ... show more

I purchased for a 2012 HONDA PILOT for two reasons. First, for the wireless Carplay and wireless Android Auto. Second, is for the back-up camera. I placed my order late evening and the item was delivered the next day. PROS: Wireless Carplay & Android Auto always works. It takes around 20-30seconds. Second, the back-up camera included is very high resolution. The guidelines can be adjusted. I am using the the auxiliary input so the audio comes out on the Honda's factory speakers. Third, audio quality from the built-in mic is very good with great sensitivity, so hands free calling works really great. I also want to add that the unit comes with TWO holders, you could use either the vertical stand or the telescopic stand/holder. I am using the vertical stand. lAST BUT NOT THE LIST, GREAT VIDEO QAULITY even on bright light light. CONS: there is only one thing that I could say. This can only memorize one phone when using Android Auto or Carplay. So if you are to share the vehicle, you first have to "unpair" the previous phone that was paired, then pair the new phone. This wireless Apple CarPlay screen works really well and was easy to set up. The 9” display is clear and responsive, and CarPlay connects quickly without any issues. The dash cam records in great quality, along with rear camera. Bluetooth works as expected. It’s a great option for adding modern features to an older car without replacing the entire stereo system. I loved the unit while it was working. The big display, the crisp backup camera, and the Android Auto functionality was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, within the first couple weeks, the screen started dimming on its own after being on for a while. A couple weeks later, it started shutting off entirely. A short while after that, it stopped turning on all-together. Despite being well outside the return window, customer service went above and beyond. Defective units happen everywhere so my rating is based on how much I liked it while it worked and the customer service response to the products problems. The unit itself was perfect, adding the backup cam was simple and quick. I didn't like 2 things about this product. The first is the placement of the dashcam. While the video quality was fantastic, because it was placed on the back of the unit, the mount was always in the way and covered about half the view. The second problem I had, and this was the missing star in my review, was with the mount itself. My dash is textured and it wouldn't stick to it, so I purchased a 3M circle that was made to stick to textured dash's but that product wasn't secure enough to hold the weight of this unit and stick to the dash on hot days. Before the unit died, I was searching for products to solve this problem. Mounting the unit to the windshield was very good but the dashcam didn't have a good view of the road - because of the mount. It also moved a bit too much when touching the edges of the screen. Overall, I really enjoyed the units functionality while it lasted. The mount was frustrating but I think every unit like this will suffer from the same problems. If you're creative and handy, you can probably solve the mount problem. ... show more
