It is a simple mod, once you remove the 6 tri wing screws on the back of the controller, lift off the faceplate. You now have access to all the buttons except L and R. To remove the trigger buttons, use your small philips screwdriver. Take all the old, worn out or broken buttons out and replace with the shiny new modified buttons. They feel just like the original controller buttons, if not better.

I used it for 2 different gamecube controllers and they fit well, but the C stick was a bit off, making it get stuck more than I would like, but definitely not a deal breaker because I could just use the originals. I would not get this if I was replacing a broken part, only to spice up a controller that already has parts that work. Feel a bit weird but will forget about it after use. ... show more

    • Not made for competitive use
They look and feel great but have many issues... 1) Both the analog stick and the c-stick are not properly sized for the controller. When putting them on, both sticks were pushed into the controller too far. I had to manually adjust with a filler to have them poke out more on the controller. 2) For both sets, the analog stick and c-stick have already been worn out and completely ripped apart in the couple of months I've been using them. They are not durable for competitive use (I used my controller for about 2-15 hours a week for 3+ months; I took a week long vacation and would go days without playing sometimes). 3) I'm somewhat (50%) sure this is default for these lower end buttons via amazon, but the z-triggers do not have the metal piece attached that allows for the snapback when installed on controller. Both my z-triggers are unusable and are just sitting around (not sure if you can remove the metal piece from old z-trigger, regardless I don't feel like this is necessary for someone who buys a $10 a set button pack). This also goes for the springs, etc for the L/R trigger. I wouldn't buy again tbh, it's not worth the struggle of adjusting the analog/c-stick as well as the rate they are deteriorating. The photos posted is a side by side comparison of the buttons I took off from my actual Gamecube controller with the ones purchased from here. The buttons feel incredibly well made as if it was from an actual Gamecube controller. The rubber analogs from the custom analog/ c stick feel so comfortably on my thumbs. Everything just fit exactly where it needed to be when the buttons were placed into the controller with no hassle. The set came with a triwing screwdriver (which I didn't own at the time of purchase) so taking apart the controller was a breeze. They even added their own little vinyl decal inside with the purchase! Very satisfied with this purchase and will be purchasing more from them in the near future. Thank so much! ... show more
