  • One of the best substitutes to date
I originally had Wilderton Lustre as apart of a NA margarita when I was traveling. It was one of the best margaritas ever, so I immediately searched for this product to order for myself. It surprisingly makes a great tequila substitute in margaritas, but it's definitely not a tequila substitute. It doesn't taste like an alcohol replacement, but it has a great botanical element to it that makes it nice for sipping. I don't typically like to drink cocktails, and finding something NA to just sip neat has been a huge challenge. I've tried many options, and to date this is my favorite. It would be cheaper to drink real booze, but if it weren't so expensive I'd be ordering this by the case. ... show more

  • Well... it's better then Wilderton Earthen, but that's not saying much
A funky flavor for sure. Not getting much by way of citrus, but definitely has an artificial floral taste to it. Best had with club soda or tonic water, with some aromatic bitters and a little simple syrup. Mixed with ginger ale or ginger beer and it becomes almost undrinkable (not a good combo of flavors AT ALL). If forced to choose, I would pick Lustre over Earthen hands down, but overall pretty disppointed with the Wilderton products. ... show more

  • Nice for Mocktails
This is now going to be my new mixer for a Non-Alcohol G&T. I was concerned when tarragon was listed as a forward ingredient, I do not like tarragon. I don't taste it at all. Instead, its a beautiful combination of citrusy, floral, herbal but not heavily so flavors. It has a little bitter bite that compliments a good tonic. I used the lower sugar FeverTree mediterranean and its sublime! I have already made several and wish it were more affordable. This is my only negative, its bloody crazy expensive! ... show more

  • Both are great!
I purchased bottles of Wilderton Lustre and Earthen during Dry January and will be ordering more after my month of sobriety is over. These are great in cocktails and totally satisfying. I would make a cocktail before dinner each night. After reading some of the reviews, I almost did not place an order. However, I’m glad I did. These are delicious. I suspect the people writing the reviews did not know how to use the product. I followed a few of the recipes provided and they cocktails were are A1 Steak Sauce good. The Earthen with Ginger Beer was great. I also enjoyed it with Tonic. Lustre with some citrus juice and simple syrup is fantastic. I’d like to try these with bitters once Dry Jan is over. ... show more

  • Bitter regrets for purchasing this.
This mocktail beverage tastes utterly disgusting. I regret the purchase, and unfortunately it can not be returned!! It was expensive and a total disappointment. It is gluten and calorie free... If it was also flavor-free that would be preferable to its actual taste which elicits a gag reflex. I would liken the flavor to a cleaning product or worse. I gave it a star because the company succeeded in packaging and mailing it. If it had broken in transit, I would have given it two stars, as I would not have had to taste it. ... show more

  • Suck on a teabag - cheaper
It’s tragic to spend $35 on a bottle of some thing that is so disappointing. I think it tastes like if you sucked on a teabag or made a beverage with ganja water. No idea where the citrus is in this. And I’m just trying to figure out what I can mix it with to hide the flavor.

  • It's Like Getting My Life Back
Disclosure: This was sent to me for free via the Vine program. I did not receive monetary compensation to write this review, just the product itself. In my time of being a distiller, back in the early 2010s, the concept of a non-alcoholic distilled spirit for the consumer was borderline laughable. The industry wanted whisk(e)y, and lots of it, at the highest strength you could muster and the longest aging time you could financially support. The fact that I'm sitting next to a bottle of Wilderton kind of blows my mind at how drastically the market has changed. I'm pretty happy about it, honestly, as I've lost my ability to drink due to the multitudes of medications I'm on so it works for me. And I'm glad that the N/A sector of both distilled spirits AND beer is seeing a boom. Not everyone wants to get absolutely cracked on a Tuesday afternoon. Sometimes you just want the flavor of something without the unfathomably heathen-ly hangover the next day. So I'm glad that I get to take a foray into trying N/A spirits. Let's get started, shall we? To start, my review process: freshly washed with soap and water, then triple rinsed Glencairn glass that's cooled down. Pour in a small pour of spirit, wash the glass with it, then dispose. Then, a fairly generous half-ounce pour. The nose on this is pretty intriguing. It's like somewhere between a gin and a bison grass vodka. I'm getting orange peel and maybe chamomile with an earthy, grassy aroma that may be lemongrass or potentially lemon balm. It's got lavender in it but it's significantly muted, perhaps by the heat of the still or the other botanicals in it. The taste is tart and drying, with a longer, more fragrant expression of the lavender and some black tea...a Ceylon tea? (Note: it was at this point I started crying). On the aeration you get bay leaf and a cardamom flavor that's chased by a bitter and astringency, I'm guessing from whatever citrus is used. It's good, VERY good. It'd make a good spritzer in place of Aperol or any other apertivo or bright amaro. You could probably fudge together a semi-decent negroni with this as well. I won't lie to you, I have a huge bias towards this beverage. As noted, half way through tasting I started crying. Tasting and reviewing beverages was a HUGE part of my life and something I not only enjoyed doing but took pride in doing. The fact that I can do it again...well it kinda broke me a little. I'd been putting this review off for as long as possible because I knew what emotions would come up during it but I shouldn't have been afraid, I should have embraced it. This spirit is good and not just in taste. It represents a delicious tipple of hope to those of us who can't or won't drink but still want to participate IN that kind of scene. Whether you want to head to a non-alcoholic bar, do non-alcoholic reviews, or what have you, this stuff will fill that void that's been missing. It tastes of botanicals and camaraderie. And it made an old salt like me cry. Would recommend. ... show more
