First and foremost, I wear these shoes every day, regardless of what I am doing (mainly work). These shoes force you to change where you distribute your weight and how heavy you plant your foot to the ground. That being said, these changes do not come without pain. Pain is weakness leaving the body. The pain is simply the muscles in your feet strengthening to a more natural shape for proper weight distribution. Here is what you can expect if you decide to take this shoes seriously and stop wearing other shoes: a much higher arch, toe separation and minor straightening of the toes, a truly wider foot. Another change I've noticed is a substantial decrease in lower back pain and intensity of pain, if there is any, on a given day. I'm serious, folks. Your body will thank you more and more as long as you keep wearing these shoes. As for the shoe itself. Considering I wear them all day, at least 5 days a week, it holds up to my standard for a great shoe. I walk in diluted alkaline often and acids occasionally, yet there are no changes in the shoe, outside of being covered in silica from stone work. They do, occasionally, come untied. 🤔 Update: I ended up getting some sole separation, at the toe, a couple days after my review. I waited a couple weeks before repairing the separation to allow more separation to occur, while continuing to wear them everyday. I found "shoe glue" yesterday and decided it was time. I cleaned, dried then glued the sole back in place and will start wearing them again, in a couple hours (24hr cure time). ... show more

I've had these for a few months now. I will definitely buy another pair. FIT: Make sure you use the size chart to get the right fit. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5 and I think I got a size 9 in these. WEIGHT LIFTING: Initially, I got these for weight lifting. I generally still deadlift and squat without shoes on, but if I'm not feeling super confident in my socks on the floor then I'll wear these. You can take the insoles out and get even closer to the floor (even though there isn't much insole to speak of). HIKING: I ended up packing these on a backpacking trip to use as camp shoes. They were awesome for that. Really refreshing after wearing trail shoes all day without actually going barefoot and risking a cut or scrape. Gotta take care of your feet when you're doing 10+ miles per day with a pack. RUNNING: I tried running on pavement in them once. They weren't super good for that with traditional form. I'd say if you altered the way you run to be more bouncy and on your toes (as if you were barefoot), they would be fine. But, it was harder than I thought it would be to run as if I were barefoot. Something about having shoes tied on just makes my brain want to run heel to toe as if I were wearing traditional running shoes. DAILY: I used to go barefoot for weeks at a time working at a beachside youth camp, so I guess you could say my feet are conditioned to be barefoot (at least they used to be). I've heard of people trying to go with barefoot shoes and having foot/ankle/knee pain. So, just because you want to doesn't mean you'll like them. And just because somebody else says they suck, that doesn't mean you'll hate them. Just try them for yourself and find out. ... show more

These shoes lived up to the advertised wide toe box reviews. The shoes are comfortable to wear with plenty of room for your feet to lay naturally flat. The shoes are made with a stretch material that allows movement without any restrictions. There is not a lot of arch and heel cushion but they are exceptionally comfortable for those needing a wide toe box with plenty of toe space. Personally I think the shoes are overpriced by ten to fifteen dollars but for immediate relief of cramped toes in ill fitting name brand running or tennis shoes these fit the bill. I can not attest to long term durability but for now my feet feel natural for first time in a long time with no aches or pains. ... show more

I love these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and breathable and are my first try on a barefoot shoe. However, the sole isn’t very durable. I’ve had them for 3 months and mainly use them for working out only (plus a few full days of walking around Disney and Universal parks). While my feet were very very comfortable, the sole is already thinning out. Not sure if it is because I have worn them quite a bit, but even with Xero shoes the main issue is that the soles do not last long at all. Not a bad price though for a mainly beater shoe that I use for the gym ... show more

    • Needed Wide Shoes... CAUTION

Was looking to finally get into wide set shoes after having some foot pain and I decided to get these a try. I got size 13 which is my normal shoe size, but they proved to be clownishly too big (felt like Ronald McDonald walking around). I checked with the size chart and I decided to go on the smaller side, after having measured my foot. I got a size 11. Too small. Sent back and ordered a 12. Too small still. Got a 12.5. Finally felt good. The shoes themselves are comfy. I like how they "hug" your ankles. That being said, the shoes are not without issues. The sole is incredibly bendable, to the point where there isn't really a lot of support. I took out the shoe inserts the shoes came with and I put in some Dr. Scholls. Felt much better, that being said. The shoes felt fine for a few weeks. But then the right shoe started to squeak whenever I walked. This wasn't a surface issue, since the right shoe squeaked regardless whether I was walking on a hardwood floor, poured concrete, or out on the street. I've tried several things to help tone down the squeaking (including WD-40), but didn't really prove helpful. I do walk a lot and I put a lot miles on my shoes. While these shoes are decent for the time being, I'm thinking next time I'll get the real thing (Olukai boat shoes, which are over $100, but I think they'll give me more support).
