I ordered the MCTRHG Leather Repair Kit to patch up a tear in a leather car seat. My car is over 20 years old so it is starting to show its age. I also accidentally spilled some chemicals on the passenger seat so it’s discolored and now has a rip. For this repair, I only needed the black paint but this set also includes white, yellow, beige, light gray, and brown (walnut) colors. In addition, it comes with backing fabric and directions to help you blend colors to match the furniture that you are repairing. I used the backing cloth on my repair and it seemed to cover the hole nicely. Due to the chemical damage on the leather it still doesn’t look great (as seen in the picture) but it’s an improvement. I got this just to try because my car has gotten pretty rough sitting in the sun. I really wanted it for our truck, which is newer, but wasn’t sure I felt safe doing that. So I gave it a go on some of our cracks. The instructions did say it dries a bit darker than you would expect, so I went very slightly lighter and got it way too dark on my first try. You can see from the photos that it wasn’t really filling the cracks, either. The second round, I used the little tool to fill it in and got the color closer. I think I would need a few more to get this really filled in on both seats, top and bottom, but I think it has pretty good potential. Being tan, I’m mostly using white, brown, and a touch of black. If you have all black seats, white, etc, you might need a couple sets if you have seats like this old car. I haven’t gotten photos of the progress since I’m home late, but have to get this up for reasons and wanted to at least show initial progress and give people a reference as to how dark this dries. The initial colors I mixed looked just like the tan, so my next mixes were a lot lighter and not perfect but much closer, also filling the cracks better. I would recommend it, but do expect you’ll need some practice to get it passable. I would recommend as long as it stays low cost. They really should give visual examples as to how dark it will dry so people can at least have a close guess to start out. ... show more

I had some small tears and spider cracking in my vinyl upholstery. I had another kit that I had to blend the color myself, which wasn't coming out right no matter what combination of white, yellow and brown, I tried. What I like about this kit is the colors are all variations of beige and one tube that looks silver. There is one tube in the kit that matched my upholstery quite well. These kits take time and patience. You need to add, and let dry, multiple layers to build up to the thickness of the surrounding material. It works, but it's not a quick fix. I wouldn't go so far as to say "good as new", but it does make an improvement if blended and applied correctly. The damage to my leather sofa wasn't significant. There were a few spots where the dogs had scratched the surface. I used this kit to touch up the areas and prevent them from becoming tears. This set of leather repair materials works perfectly for filling in small holes or cracks or gouges in your vinyl or leather items. I used this to repair a barstool that had excessive wear and tear on the very front of the seat. I am hopeful this repair will hold up so we can get years more use out of this stool. ... show more
