I bought a size up, I thought my 3 year old can wear thick socks as she growth spurts into the next size and it was a good move! These boots are sturdy and water/mud proof, yet the coolest/prettiest/most awesome shade of hot deep pink with sparkles! The handles are key because she can pull them on and off with total independence (a toddler parent dream). The soles light up when she stomps and that is just amazing.
