First I would like to say these are not appropriate for use on medium to high pile carpet, having a hard surface really helps to push the corners down. Also if you want to stick them to glass walls or the tub silicone tape would likely work well but they will not stick on vertical surfaces on their own. Secondly I gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 because they take a little finesse and because they are quite expensive although I still like the product and I think they are durable without being too thick. I looked everywhere before purchasing the set and couldn’t figure out the different variations of the reverse sides so I have provided pictures that illustrate how each one and it’s reverse side looks. Both the parking and pedestrian crossings have straight road on their reverse sides which makes them quite functional and it’s pretty logical. The 3rd type of straight piece has the triangles on the opposite sides of the street on each side which makes it easy to be road compliant in your region. Similarly the roundabouts switch direction on the opposite sides while the turning squares let you choose whether going left or right. Last but not least the curves, well even though they show two separate images and their mirrored sides, all 12 are the same, they do afford you the mirrored view for these and it takes 8 curved pieces to make a circle. I would like to add that I recently purchased a mixed extension set which has a variety of 8 pieces with a total of 4 curves which gives you the same amount of total curves when added to this as king of the road. ... show more

Love how these open ended roads come together to take playing with cars and small world play to the next level. They definitely go together and stay together best on hard flat floors, impatient toddlers might not be ready to use them on carpet and over objects. I expected them to have a smell but straight out of the package they didn't have a rubbery or plasticy odor. ... show more

    • One of my favorite toys for kids
I purchased these for my 2 year old and it has been a great hit. He enjoys putting them together and playing with his cars. What I like about this type of toys is how buildable they are. You can buy more accessories (street signs, trees, houses, trucks, etc) to expand play options and creativity. The accessories are not as pricey so when friends and family ask what they can get my kiddo I usually suggest simple stuff that can complement this set. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

    • Doesn't live up to the hype
Returning these. We are a Montessori family and I follow many Instagram accounts that tout this set as a must-have. I loved how versatile they looked to be as well as how simple. When they finally came in (shipped from Germany), I decided to set up a simple track for my 2.5yo for post-nap play and I found 3 things: 1. They pieces are very difficult to join smoothly 2. There were often small gaps between pieces 3. They DID NOT stay together through play. My son was over the moon when he came downstairs to play and his excitement soon turned to frustration when pieces began to break apart. When one comes undone, it starts a chain reaction up the “road” to several more pieces and my son will not play again until it’s fixed. This is too much of a frustration for the play it provides. My kids absolutely love this! My son lives to make different tracks every time and being able to play with them inside and outside or in the bathtub. They are really easy to clean too which is nice with four kids. We will definently be adding more pieces to our set!
