It took me a little while to decide on size and color. There are so many wonderful colors to pick from. This jacket has everything I was looking for. It has a nice size hood with a wrap around collar fastened with a Velcro. This will definitely keep the wind out. I like the zipper front with an cover over it held with Velcro. Yet more wind and cold protection. There are nice long sleeves for me. Those have Velcro wrist wrap too! There is a thumb holes but I find them a bit snug for me. Finally, the waist and hip adjustments also keep out the cold. I feel that whomever designed this knew what they were doing. This will be great walking my dog on those bluster winter days, among other things. Oh, and there is a nice soft cozy lining too. 73 yr old 5'6" 170# I struggled between L and XL but went with XL. My only issue is, the sleeves could be longer. Otherwise it is so warm and comfy! I've lost a lot of weight and I'm so cold allmof the time so going out in the freezing cold, nope. This coat is perfect for me (aside from longer sleeves) excellent quality and a nice pop of color.

This jacket is heavy as you wouldn't believe. It is thickly insulated and I believe it's going to do really well come cold weather. It leaves little blue fuzzies all over your shirt. But I think a good washing will fix that. This seems to be a good solid winter coat. I am about 5'4 and about 200lbs, I ordered the 3xl. And it fits good with a little room to layer if I want to. I love this jacket! It's light weight but yet warm!! Would work great for U.P. weather.. Color was perfect! Zipper quality worked great.. Style of the jacket is awesome! The only downfall that i did NOT like is it does NOT fit the length of my arms... I have long arms... it's hard to find a good winter jacket for myself for U.P. Michigan winters.. ORIGINAL REVIEW (scroll down for update): I bought this jacket because I needed a decently thick, waterproof jacket because I am moving to the mountains for college. I absolutely despise jackets and never wear one even if the temperature gets below freezing where I live, (which it almost never does), because I just get hot and started sweating extremely easily. However I knew I had no choice now because I would be in a lot colder weather than I'm used to where the winds make it seem 10x colder, but I wanted a jacket that wasn't bulky but would keep me warm. I bought this because I thought it fit that bill and I was disappointed, but that may be because I got the wrong size. I feel like this doesn't fit like it looks in the picture as well if that makes sense. In the picture it looks like it would fit flat and to sort of your figure, but it doesn't. I usually wear a medium in all jackets, so I ordered one, because although I have a small torso, my shoulders are broad and my upper arms are a bit thicker so I need room to move them. I am 5'3" and 150 pounds. However I think this jacket is somewhat large. It kind of bulges out in the back and sides and fits a lot thicker. If I were to wear layers under this it would fit nicely, but I know I am not because I get hot SUPER easily and knew layers plus this jacket would be too much no matter how cold it was. Although I have not tried it out in cold weather, (which I will update this review when I do), I am 100% positive short sleeves and this jacket would be plenty warm for me. The lowest it will get on average where I am going will be around 20 degrees Fahrenheit with "feels like" temperatures being ever colder. I think I am going to return this for a small and see how that works for me. If you plan on layering, I would say order what size you normally do unless you are like me and always size up for jackets. However, this jacket is really nice material and I know it will hold up well in the weather I am moving to. It has plenty of outside and inside pockets to hold all your items and keep them dry. It's a steal for the price. UPDATE: I returned this jacket and reordered for a size small, blue jacket (which looks a lot cuter btw) and I love it, even though I hate jackets. It fits like I expected the first one to. It fits perfect for me to wear short sleeves or a thin long sleeve underneath, which is what I was planning on doing because I know this jacket will keep me plenty warm. I couldn't wear anything thicker than a medium thickness long sleeve shirt because of how it fits. It is a bit tight around my upper arms and shoulders, but a lot of my clothes fit like that because I am broad-shouldered and my upper arms are thicker, and it's fine with me. I love this jacket 100x more now that I ordered a smaller size, and a different color. If you're smaller than me (I'm 5'3 and 150 pounds, small torso and thick bottom half) and plan on layering, I think a small would work. However if you are my size or a little bigger and want to layer, order a medium. I usually wear size small shirts and the small fits me like I want and where I wouldn't have room to layer. I usually order medium jackets, but that size was too big and bulky for me in this jacket. So base what size you need off of this, but even if you don't like it, you get your return in the form of a gift card the day you drop your package off and can receive your new jacket in 2 days for free, so it's really no hassle. I love my jacket and am happy I returned and re-ordered! I will update my review to tell how well it holds up in mountain snow, cold, rain, and wind. ... show more

I just received this today I tried it on immediately. My bust size is DD I'm 5'6. You're definitely able to wear a fluffy sweater no issue wearing snow pants on top of wearing all these layers. There is plenty of room, sleeves are a bit long for me and wide a opening but wearing gloves shouldn't be a problem. I recommend this coat for someone who wants warmth style and to feel comfortable with their comfort needs. ... show more

This coat is soft, made for really cold weather, has all the bells and whistles - deep zipper pockets, thumb sleeve, inner pockets, up draft protection. I got it on black Friday special for about $40, so it was a steal at that price! I would 100% buy this coat again and can tell I'm going to love it for years. I bought an XL as I normally wear. I'm 5'4" 170 lbs, size 12 and it is a little roomier than I expected. It zips from the left, opposite side as my old coat. Since the zipper is opposite and it runs big, I wondered if it may be a mans coat advertised as women's coat. I would've expected the thumb wholes and sleeve length to be too long in a men's coat though and it not at all. If you are close on size I would size down. You will not need to plan on layering in this coat unless you are talking big negative temps/windchills. ... show more
