Description

Walrus Oil's Furniture Finish is a curing oil made of Polymerizing Safflower Oil, Tung Oil, and Hemp Seed Oil with a hint of Lime. Ideal for hardwood chairs, dressers, picture frames and other woodworking projects that call for a curing oil, our Furniture Finish brings out natural colors and drys to a beautiful matte finish. Simply apply oil, dry for 24 - 48 hours, and wipe away excess. Fully cures over time, usually by 4 weeks. Store in cool and dry place. Made from a variety of Safflower Oil that has historically been used as a major component in floor sealers, varnishes, and paints. Made from a variety of Safflower Oil that has historically been used as a major component in floor sealers, varnishes, and paints. Our Safflower Oil contains the highest concentration of linoleic acids in plant oils and a high iodine number, allowing the oil to polymerize (double bond) when it comes into contact with oxygen when applied to wood. The addition of Hemp Seed Oil speeds up drying time and adds to the overall durable as it triple bonds to a hard surface. Our Furniture Finish is 100% Plant-Based, biodegradable, and contains no harmful additives or accelerators. We recommend using one coat of oil and only applying additional coats after it's fully cured. Shelf stable when properly stored and used by expiration date.

  • Handy, Works Well
Produces a good finish. In warm low humidity environment drying time is similar to other products. Nice that is rated for food contact.

  • This Stuff is Amazing
I was originally looking for 100% hemp oil, but I thought I'd give this a try since the other oils (tung and safflower) are also natural and food safe. It completely revitalized wood that had been damaged by sun, salt air and rain. Nothing else I'd tried had worked, and I thought I was going to have to sand the wood down and refinish it. This oil provided a lovely finish without having to sand, and it also smells nice and natural. I like the fact its food safe and doesn't smell like chemicals.. I love how happy it has made my wood. I just bought a second bottle. ... show more

  • Easy to like.
Found this finish recommended on a utube channel, and I have only used it on one type of wood to date (Paulownia, see example pix), I definitely like it at this point. Very easy to apply, and looks good, although it is only a few days old in the attached pix. As my usage is limited, I can not speak to durability of the finish, but, based on the directions on the bottle, it can be re-applied, which is a good thing. Should future use show it is not good for long term use, I hope to add an update to this review. Definitely plan to buy more, as needed. ... show more

  • Great natural color
It enhanced the natural color, and was very easy to apply, although you really need wear gloves, and apply it outside. The only real issue I had was that the description indicated it dried to a polymer finish which I thought would be stronger, and more resistant. I will wind up putting a sealant on the stove cover because of that. ... show more

  • Great on Clear epoxy/resin projects!
I loved using this product on a recent epoxy resin table. This is very oily and thin, and sinks deep into the wood right away! (Don't pour directly on unfinished wood as it will sink in faster than you would prefer. It soaked in and clarified the Clear epoxy deep pour I created on my table. I finished it off with the Walrus Oil furniture wax, which I highly recommend to protect the finish. ... show more

  • Great product
I used this for the first time on my antique 1930s furniture about 2 months ago and the shine is still there. It’s not greasy as I thought it would be. I’d buy again
