I have received my second order from Barrington Hardwoods and they were both well above average quality. Walnut lumber is crazy expensive overall, but the cost per bd/ft here was better than competitors. I am expanding my kitchen which is walnut cabinetry so this is being used for the new drawer fron
ts and all the interface transitions. I used walnut veneer on the new large surfaces, and the end result is quite stunning. I prefer quarter sawn stock (straight grain lines) with minimal and balanced sapwood (sapwood can be awkwardly lighter in color) but the lumber I received was a nice usable compromise of cuts. The dimensions were accurate (maybe 1/32 shy on width but normal). No waste because of defects or twisting. Shipping was immediate on both orders so they arrived earlier than expected. No promotions here, just a recently retired guy who hates to get screwed by dishonest vendors. This one appears legit.

I don’t know if I can hand picked these planks better that the one they sent me. Imperfections are to be expected of all natural products. The planks I received has very little of it. All faces are square and smooth. This is important to me since I don’t own a planet and a jointer. I recommend this s

Absolutely gorgeous wood!

I purchased these boards specifically to make business signs for the company my husband works for. I wasn't expecting them to be so perfect. These boards are absolutely beautiful! The wood has a rich color and flawless surface. Perfect for burning on. I used a wood burner tool and burned the address
of the business into one of the boards and the word "Office" into the other board. The charred numbering and lettering looks so amazing on this beautiful wood. I definitely wasn't expecting that. The wood actually shipped and arrived earlier than was quoted and every question or concern I had for this seller was answered and assured by this seller. They have quality products, absolutely gorgeous wood and a great hospitality for their customers. I give them 10 stars if I could! Definitely recommend ordering from them instead of the cheaper guys. I expected to pay for my laziness in quality, but the couple little planks were perfectly nice grain, extremely flat, and overall awesome. Any wood you buy that you don't hold in your hand is a dice roll, but my order at least was fine.

Beautiful Walnut with some minor issues.

The Walnut itself is beautiful, but the length is inconsistent and not a true 36 inches long. Length of the boards range from 35 3/4 to 35 7/8. Not a single one was a true 36 inches long. Also 3 out of the 8 boards had the ends cut crooked and not straight, which I can easily fix. Overall....it's bea
utiful wood and I would not hesitate to order again. They just need to improve on the quality of their measurements and cuts.

Those measurements at that price? I expected knotty, warped, and inconsistently-grained sawmill planks. I’ve never been so happy to be so wrong! These boards are excellent, and I’m ordering more before the inventory is vamoose!

Beautiful Walnut - Needs Better Shipping Wrap to Prevent Damage

Great quality of wood, wish it was s4s! Mine was S2S. I read a review someone got S4S so I automatically assumed. Either way the two surfaces were pretty much defect free and that's what matters most. Off to the jointer I go!

This did have some lighter sections to the wood so if you’re looking for a solid consistent dark color you should probably buy something you can see first. But for me it was fine.
