  • Great way to light your smoker tubes!
Welp, after reading articles online, I decided to purchase this heat gun to start my smoker tubes. I was tired of using a propane torch since I felt it was wasteful getting propane tanks. The heat gun takes about a minute on high or two minutes on low, and once the flame starts up it sounds like a jet engine. After letting it build a coal, I will blow the flame out and let the tube smoke. The good thing about this heat gun is that it hasn't tripped my outdoor circuit breaker unlike some higher-powered and cheaper heat gun that I purchased prior. Get one! ... show more

  • Works well.
It functions very good just not as hot as I expected it to be. But overall good for the price

  • Heat gun for peeling laminate off cabinets
Doing some home reno myself, including painting my kitchen cabinets. They had a laminate cover that was peeling off in some parts, so I used this heat gun to remove them entirely. This tool made it so easy and surprisingly quick. Highly recommend. I did 24 doors and 5 drawers in maybe 2-3 hours tops. ... show more

  • Great Heat Gun for the Price!! FAST and EASY to use! 5 STARS!!!
This is a GREAT heat gun!! It heats up immediately (there are 2 heat settings) and is easy to use. I use it with PVC shrink bags to seal gift baskets and Polyolefin food grade shrink bags to seal individual decorated cookies. The bags shrink very fast creating a crystal clear flawless appearance to my baskets and cookies. I was very impressed that the heat from the gun did NOT damage or melt the dried icing on my cookies while I was sealing them. I also found this heat gun VERY USEFUL in speeding up the drying process for applying multiple layers/colors of icing to decorate cookies. It has saved me hours of "down time" from waiting for an icing color/layer to dry before I could proceed to the next step. I no longer have to worry about icing colors bleeding together; I just "zap" the cookie with the heat gun and the icing is semi-set and I can apply another layer or color. There is NO comparison between this heat gun and a blow dryer! This heat gun gets much hotter (even on the low setting) and is much faster to use. This heat gun removes all wrinkles from the plastic film and leaves a better looking finished appearance. I can seal a large basket in less than a minute and it looks perfect! The heat gun is also much quieter than a blow dryer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! ... show more

  • Easy to use, and safer than expected
Works well for molding eva foam. (Be safe when heating foam: buy a respirator, do it in a ventilated area, don't do it near pets.) On/off switch is very easy to operate one-handed. It's designed to stand up on its own when placed on its "back" (nozzle pointing up), and that's very handy if you're doing something that requires you to frequently set the gun aside. Construction appears solid; doesn't feel cheap. So far, it has worked well with an *outdoor* extension cord. I was very nervous about getting burned or scorching my work surface when I saw the temperature specs, but my fears seem to have been unfounded. Placing your hand near the output feels like sticking your hand in a 400 degree oven: a couple seconds won't even hurt, much less burn you. I'm not sure exactly which element reaches that listed temperature (probably something inside the gun), but the foam I'm heating doesn't seem to get anywhere near that hot. The metal tip, however, gets VERY VERY hot, and it will STAY hot for quite some time after the gun is turned off. (I haven't clocked it, but I'd say its in the half hour range.) That metal IS hot enough to burn you, so take care and put it somewhere safe when cooling. ... show more

  • Heats Up & Holds Temp Well, Will Smoke With First Use Per Manual
This was something my husband purchased for waxing a canvas bag. He liked this one much better then the one he had borrowed from a friend when he started working on the bag in question. I don't anticipate this getting heavy use, since he only plans on using it for waxing, so I can't speak to the durability with frequent use question. He said, however, that he likes that it heats up quickly and it maintained a good temperature for what he needed it for. Just as a note, this item will smoke a bit when you first use it, and it does say somewhere in the manual that this is to be expected the first time you use it. I had actually been concerned when I saw it as he was applying the wax until he told me the bit about that being in the manual. So just a heads up, in case you are like me and tend to only read manuals for things requiring assembly or that don't seem to be functioning as expected. ... show more

  • Very good for sticking polyethylene foams together
I bought this in Sep 2017. So far, I've used this to adhere polyethylene foam pieces to each other because I don't have a glue that works on this type of material. Using a heat gun to adhere the foam pieces is a quick process - just a few seconds of moving the heat gun over the two pieces, then press together. It's instant bonding! It would work better if I have a concentrator nozzle. Off to find me one! This didn't work well on polyethylene rods. I made legs (feet? tall feet!) for my stainless sink grid. One of the legs was a bit loose. I thought I could heat up the plastic rod (soften/melt it up a bit) and then just push the grid on it. Again, probably could have used a concentrator. So, I just used a soldering iron to melt the top of the PE rod and "push" it towards the groove (making the groove narrower) --- tighter fit around the sink grid wire. ... show more

  • The heat is on!
You'll definitely be packing heat with the Wagner Spraytech 503059 Furno 300. The looks of this heat gun is that from an interstellar galaxy, with it's bright yellow color. It's great for projects with children, like melting crayons and heating glue to remove stuck on stickers. Another use is to re-open envelopes that you might have sealed accidentally before you put everything you intended to inside. Attaching the power cord is a bit tricky and detaching it is even trickier, since I haven't been able to figure out how to do it yet. It is not professional grade, but it's a nice one for arts & crafts. I'd consider it a handy and inexpensive tool to have around. ... show more
