This is a xmas gift for my grandson so I have no idea yet

  • Great product
The desk was very easy to assemble. I bought this as a birthday gift for my two year old daughter and she likes it so far. It's just the right size for her and she enjoys sitting and exploring the pictures and the activities. She doesn't quite understand everything, but I'm confident she will grow into it. The chalkboard underneath is nice, but it's a little hard for her to open. I also wish the activity pages stayed underneath a little better. When the desk is moved, usually by her, the pages slide out onto the floor. The desk is recommended up to age 5 or so, but I think it may be a little small in size for an older child. Or maybe my daughter is a little tall. We have only had this product for a few days, so we are still learning. But overall I would recommend this product. She is already learning new words and seems very interested. ... show more

  • Fantastic, grow-with-me toy for a 2.5 year old
LOVE this desk! I got it for Christmas for my 2.5 year old, along with the expansion package. Within an hour, he understood how to work it (for the most part...the pages still confused him a bit because he tries to put in two at once). I'm really surprised with how into it he is, considering how much he used to love his tablet. I also like how easy it is for me to play with him on it and he loves learning with me. But he can also work it independently. It's a great toy that can grow with him as he gets older and probably the best $40 I've ever spent on a toy. I'm so impressed by how much it can do for that price. My only slight complaint is that it seems like the button that switches from activity mode to music mode seems to get stuck on music mode at times, but that might just be operator error. ... show more

  • ***UPDATED REVIEW***
***edited review*** We got this for our daughter for christmas. Less than a month later, after only being played with a few times, it would only work properly in the music mode. Otherwise, it was like it has a short in the touch pad. It changed what it was saying before it finished, like someone was pushing a bunch of buttons, even though nobody was touching it. "V is for---D is---X is---G is for" etc. It just kept going and going and going. It wouldn't stop no matter what mode it was in other than music mode. We tried switching sheets, cleaned the buttons with a damp rag thinking maybe they were sticky...nothing helped. It even turned itself on when nobody is in the room and did this until someone goes and shuts it off. After getting in touch with fetch customer service, which was a bit frustrating, we have fixed the problem. I tried multiple times for 2 days to send emails and always got an error, so I ended up having to call the customer service number. They sent me an email with a troubleshoot idea, and stated they would replace it if it didn't work. Luckily, it worked. If anyone else has this problem, try taking the batteries out, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and put the batteries back in. My daughter loves it, and we are much happier now that it's working properly. ... show more

  • Review for VTech Touch & Learn Activity Desk
After putting this one through a test run this weekend, I am surprised at how well it held his attention. The VTech Touch & Learn Activity Desk is another in the trend of using insert cards to give your kids an interactive, educational experience. This activity desk, however, had a few more bells and whistles than some of the other options out there. The T&L Activity Desk says it is designed for kids age 2 to 5. Most of the insert cards cater to the younger end of that spectrum so it is probably best suited to kids who are just beginning to learn their letters and colors. The desk itself is also on the small side so if your four or five-year-old is on the larger side, it might be a little cramped. Other than that, this product got the thumbs up. *A sample of item was provided for purposes of a product review. See full review here: [...] ... show more

  • Grapes but for little ones parents will have to be there the whole time
this is a great toy learning tool but the only thing is you have to be with your children all the time I would say probably up to maybe almost age 5. the reason is if they try to reach a crossed it and if their hands touch the board at all it's constantly going off so if they're trying to search something they picture search button and they accidentally hit the the screen with their elbow then it doesn't stay and play or it goes off with something else so far A little ones I think it's a little hard for them to use that it might have been best if it was more like the stencil on the back side other than laying flat ... show more

  • Touch Pad Way Too Sensitive, Will drive a parent crazy!
My nephew, who has now outgrown this toy, had the older version of this. Because my daughter loved his so much, I decided to get her the newer deluxe version for her 2nd birthday. I quickly found that the older version was actually better because the touch pad on this one is way too sensitive. My daughter tends to lean on the table because...well, it's a table and she's two years old! Because of this, and the sensitivity of the table top, the toy says multiple things at a time, making it hard for her to actually comprehend and learn what she should from each activity page, and driving me absolutely crazy! They need to reconsider the design of the toy and keep in mind that a toddler is most likely going to lean on the table. Another reviewer suggested that perhaps there should be a border around the table that a child could lean on. This issue did not exist with the older version. If it had, I would never have gotten it for my daughter. It's such a shame when a toy is "upgraded" and it turns out that the older version was actually better. Oh how I wish I had taken my sister up on her offer to take my nephew's old activity desk. I have come to absolutely hate this toy! The concept of the toy is great so hopefully, when my daughter gets a little older she will learn how to not lean on the table. If I had it to do over again, I would not purchase this item. ... show more
