  • Great Headset, but can be uncomfortable.
Color: Blue
This headset is very good for the price at everything it does and I like it for that reason. However it is very uncomfortable for me to wear for extended periods. 15 minutes in of playing a VR game and I could really feel the weight of my phone and the headset bearing down on my nose and it really hurt. I tried putting one of the pads that come with the headset (for keeping the phone elevated when inside the headset so it doesn't hit volume/power buttons) and it frankly made the problem worse. Adjusting the straps did not help much either for me. It's a bit of a bummer that it's uncomfortable for me to wear but other than that it is good. Due to the comfort problem I believe I will be returning this as it's a huge deal breaker for me, but currently I am trying to see if I can find a workaround for the comfort issue for the time being. ... show more

  • Doesn't work as advertised, physically painful to wear
Color: Blue
The instructions require you to install Google Cardboard and set the Bnext as your headset type--that part works out just fine. And that's where it stops working. There is no way to interact with anything. The instructions say that you simply stare at something to activate it, and that is not the case. You can stare at a button as long as you want, and nothing happens. It was impossible to even complete the Google Cardboard tutorial! On top of that, the nose indentation is way too shallow. The hard plastic corner was digging into the bridge of my nose, and it physically hurt to have it on. Raising it off my nose or sticking a wad of cotton there didn't help because then the lenses were pushed up too high to see. I figured if I could find even one VR app that I enjoyed using I could justify keeping it, but after 2 weeks of off and on poking around the Play store I gave up. I was hoping this would be like the old Samsung Gear VR headset, but it performed even worse than the goggles that are literally cut out of cardboard. At least those had a trigger button and don't hurt to use. In all the years I've had Prime, this is the first time I've ever returned an item, and the first time I've ever rated anything one star. Let the magnitude of that sink in. ... show more

  • Oculus Rift’s Cousin Twice Removed
Color: Blue
It’s a budget VR headset so of course it’s not gonna be like the Oculus Rift or playing on a Playstation VR headset, but it does what it’s supposed to. You can watch VR videos on Youtube (or other apps, like Google Cardboard) either in 180° or the complete 360° option that makes videos more immersive. You can also find a couple games you can play via your app store but be advised that this doesn’t come with a remote control so you can only play the gaze-to-point games. It’s easy enough to set up. Follow the instructions given and make sure to take off your phone’s case. I have an iPhone 8+ and it fits fine with the plastic clasp. It does slip out a little from its socket but it doesn’t hinder the picture quality too much. The lenses are adjustable, meaning you can move them left or right depending on how close or how far your eyes are from each other. There’s also an adjustable strap so that you can have it fit more comfortably to your head but the problem I found with that is, it should be as tight as possible without it being uncomfortable. The padding that they have for your face to rest against is comfortable minus the edges that press against your nose/mouth area. You’ll see what I mean if you buy it. The edges of the padding aren’t rounded out so when you put the headset on, it kinda jabs below your nose and above your lips. I personally got used to that but it might be unbearably uncomfortable for others. In terms of picture quality, I quickly grew bored of swiping through videos trying to find real immersive ones. Again, you get what you pay for and this headset does what it’s supposed to, but I definitely should have looked into buying the real thing. It’s great for kids, great for adults if you don’t mind noticing how flat things look in VR videos. The fact that I could always see the edges of my phone screen was a real downer but watcha gonna do? ... show more

  • Love watching YouTube in VR! Easy to set up, works with most phones
Color: Blue
I've always known YouTube VR videos were a thing, but I've never given them a shot. It never seemed worthwhile to set up the PSVR for it, and it never crossed my mind to load up some videos after playing a game. This device makes it so easy, and I can leave it on the TV stand and pick up whenever I feel like watching! Specifically, I've enjoyed watching VR videos from amusement parks and amusement park rides. You don't usually get a 360-degree view while riding a roller coaster, but with this, you do! I use my iPhone 7 Plus which is LARGE and it still fits just fine in the system - there's a spring-loaded arm that holds your phone snugly in place, so smaller phones would fit just as well. Tips: - Boot up your VR video/game before inserting your phone so that you know where the center line is - remove any phone cases before inserting your phone - use the included foam pads if any buttons are being pressed when your phone is placed in the device - once everything is booted up, put the advice on and spend some time adjusting the lenses using the easy adjustments on the top of the headset - try moving them side to side and back and forth until you have the clearest and most comfortable picture you can. If everything isn't in-focus, it can really break the illusion. If I were to dock this set for anything, I'd say that the comfort level could be slightly improved with a foam pad attached to the plastic piece that goes around the back of your head. After an extended period it becomes a bit noticeable, probably particularly so for me because my phone is so heavy. I'm attaching some pictures with my review that show the headset, including the sliding tray in which you would insert your phone. Unfortunately, using my phone to take these pictures, I was unable to completely demonstrate. Hope they still make sense! ... show more
