This is a must buy, it is not only sanitary but it is also a much better improvement than the standard foam ones you get from HTC. You're peripherals are far clearer and nearer to the screen so you can see about 10% better than before. Comfort is impressive, your face doesn't get uncomfortable at all while using them, however since the Vive his heavy and you have less cushion on your face as before the covers do tend to have a bit of a discomfort on weight. However it's not to the point of taking them off and saying their junk because these fit comfortably. Make sure when you put them on the Vive that you put it on flush with the plastic and Velcro because it makes a world of a difference instead of leaving any hangover outside of the Vive, it doesn't block your view instead it improves your comfort. They honestly should be using these for HTC instead of their foam ones, far more usable and honestly more comfortable. ... show more

  • Game changer for the OG Vive
Holy moly.. this is an absolute must-buy for any OG Vive user. Not only is it more hygienic, comfortable, and cooler on the face than the original face-sponge, it also quite noticeably increases the effective FOV, and completely negates the need of the original nose rest. I was just looking for a replacement nose rest today, and it would seem they are only available on eBay for exorbitant prices. Well, with this thing, I just went ahead and completely removed the old disintegrated thing, and was happily surprised to find that with this pad installed, there is nearly zero light bleed from outside the headset. Along with everything I’ve already said in praise of the VRCover facepad, I also have to mention that it also increases lens clarity, and reduces godrays in the original fresnel lenses. This thing is downright incredible, and like I said, an absolute must buy for anyone still enjoying their OG Vive in 2024. I will be installing the Gear VR lens mod here in a few days, and will report back on if the thinner pad causes any issues with those. Cheers! ... show more

  • Better comfort than the default foam but not better fit
Thinner foam supposedly gives you a better FOV in the HTC Vive. I used a vive background/environment that was set up to help measure the FOV and even with the thing dialed all the way back and wearing these, the FOV is no different from when I used the normal foam (80°). The default foam has a little notch in the middle to help make sure you centered the foam properly but these face pads don't have that. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a small detail that could have made things work a bit better. it also doesn't accurately fit the Vive. The face pads stick out about 1/4 inch on all sides (which is better than having that padding potentially blocking the view INSIDE the Vive). The Velcro works well enough to hold it in place securely (at least I haven't noticed a problem) but I think it also lets in just a teeny bit of light where the default face pads didn't have that problem. This is probably due to the less than accurate fit. If there was a way I could make it fit better it would probably stop the light from getting in. It's really only apparent from a particular angle and then only if the light is shining directly into the gap. If you aren't playing in a brightly lit room you won't have to worry. The pads are comfortable (though a bit thin) and pretty easy to wipe down between sessions. I would say if you plan on using your vive with multiple people in a short period of time, this would be a good replacement since it would keep the sweat from your face from soaking in. ... show more

  • Do yourself a favor and get these. They are worth it!
I had debated on purchasing these as I felt they were a bit over priced, but I pulled the trigger anyway after getting tired of the face foam that came with the vive catching so much sweat, even with minimal use. All I can say is that I am extremely happy I bought these for several reasons. 1. They breathe much better, so you actually don't sweat as much. 2. They are way, I mean way more comfortable than the OEM face foam. 3. They provide a much better POV. 4. It is actually easier to put the headset on with these. 5. And this is my favorite part, with the OEM face foam I was always having to adjust the headset to keep my eyes in the sweet spot, but with these, I put it on and I rarely have to adjust it while in game. That alone makes it worth every penny! It makes immersion that much better. I could not recommend these enough. Just fyi, I have perfect vision, but I do wear blue light blocking glasses when normally watching tv or playing games. I tried using the glasses with this face foam and it was not good as it is so thin and your eyes are very close to the lenses. I would recommend you purchasing the 18mm version if you wear glasses. ... show more

  • which while comfortable the Vive's straps could not properly accomodate the extra ...
In terms of a 6mm foam face cover, it performs excellently. I previously bought the 18mm, which while comfortable the Vive's straps could not properly accomodate the extra thickness and in more active VR games the headset wouldn't be as tightly sealed as I would have liked. The coating has smaller holes than I've seen on similarly designed ones, and the extra price is because it uses some form of leather particulate applied to the outside like you would see on good headphone padding - if you've used the ATH-M50 it's of a similar feel in terms of softness. It's also worth noting the thinner the material, the less sweat build-up there is, although this can result in the scenario where it runs down into the eyes instead of being soaked up. I would personally recommend a somewhat thicker one though. For me, this fit the most snuggly and it was in clear advantage over the stock VR covers as well as the 18mm covers. It is by a country mile the best 6mm there is for sure. I would buy a 12mm or similar size from them, but I haven't been able to find it so far. ... show more
