These will not 'strip out' with High usage. The plastic ones just do not last me very long. Even the 1" plastic "Blue Monster" brushes strip out after only a few uses. The plastic 6 sided part strips and then you are back to using it like a manual outside brush. With these metal brushes you can even use the correct size 1/4" nut driver and use a small impact gun to save space and weight on big jobs to drive these brushes. They come with replacement filament bands when you wear out the old ones. When you wear out the replacement bands you can probably open all those broken plastic brushes and use those bands as well. ... show more

This thing works great. I had some old copper pipe and it was very dark. This tool cleans the pipe very quickly especially when new. After it wasn't cleaning well in CW direction I reversed the drill and the cleaning power was great again. I found that using a slower speed prolongs the life of the brush. If you have alot of cleaning to do on dirty pipe order some replacement brushes. Great product ... show more

Great tool. Should have added to my tool set along time ago. Exterior Material is solid. Inside brushes look to be withstanding and have not had to swap out yet. I use it 5 days a week. Tool set comes with Inside brush replacements. I will buy again for self and a as a gift.

I wish I had bought this earlier. Surely makes sanding/preparing copper pipe easy. It comes with a replacement stripper pad. The only downside is that if you don't have "snap ring pliers" you can't swap the inner part after it wears out.

Most of the time when I've removed copper oxidation from 3/4" pipe, I've either used emery cloth or a manual combination wire brush for copper. I was a little apprehensive in using a powered brush as I thought it might be too aggressive and remove more than just the oxidation. Well it turns out it doesn't remove too much material after all, and does an OK job. I did find if I did not move the pipe in and out of the brush while it was turning, sometimes in the mid section of the part to be cleaned, it would leave some oxidation behind. I also noted like another user here, that on one pieces of pipe I worked, there was some residual water in it and it did cause some rusting on the tool. I now know going forward, to try and prevent the tool from getting wet to keep that from happening. The tool seems well built, but another material might have been chosen for its construction to prevent rusting. It does save time over manually cleaning the pipe for each joint, and especially on more than just a minor repair, probably would save a noticeable amount of prep time.
