LG remote was old and no longer working . Tried to find a universal remote and everyone had terrible reviews or used a usb dongle . The replacement remote from lg were over 80 dollars . This remote works amazing no issues would highly recommend . Works better than the original .

The only difference I can tell is that it does not have the world Samsung on the bottom for far less than what one remote costs.
