The media could not be loaded. Update (07/29/23) It’s been over a month now and I’ve learned to adjust the picture so that the picture is flat no matter if I’m projecting low, and is no longer distorted as in my video. This is our go-to device for viewing movies or tv shows at home. I now plug into the device from an HDMI port to an old Mac and play movies directly from my computer. I still highly recommend this projector! (older review below) I am new to projectors for home, but wanted to have something available that was compact yet my family could enjoy old-school movie-style viewings of media without going into the theatre. The Vizony projector filled that need, plus a nerdy need to be able to view things camping without a whole big setup for bothering campsite neighbors. I will have a more accurate accounting of the the latter when I do so in Yosemite. This projector is geared toward the budget-friendly, with modest instructions and appropriate accessories for what my family needed. I will say it is intuitive to a degree as I was able to operate the majority of what I wanted it for out-of-the-box, which was to run movies off of a USB drive and project them for home viewings. From the video provided, you will see that the picture is very good, though by no means is it a professional setup and sans projection screen. The picture is bright next to the computer run version of the the same movie (please do not let the depths of the black levels fool you). What the camera fails to capture is that the quality is very good. and it is a projection on a plaster wall vs. a dedicated LED or OLED screen). I consider the audio a good reference and provided it just for that, but when you connect the projector to dedicated audio equipment, it is great quality. For criticisms, it is hard to fault the Vizony projector for things outside of what should realistically be expected. It is a projector in a compact form, which means it will generate fanned-out heat as expected, and for me, noise is negligible as you can hear in the video. Also, give a few minutes to set this up for a home viewing as you need to properly place it and establish focus and brightness, which the later I am use to doing at home-per-viewing on our regular TV. (The sweet spot will forever vary with multiple viewers, especially in our picky household). One thing I had a problem with as finding the setting for making a standard ‘widescreen’ movie look that way, as by default, this projector is set to squish widescreen into a standard TV 4x3 ratio, but after spending exactly 4 minutes in the manual, I was able to correct for this. I will update this review as needed, but the one thing I was unable to do is use this projector as an X-Box gaming projector on my ceiling. This is by no means a fault of this projector, but the X-Box is for some reason not working at the moment. The projector as a very compact and mobile unit would otherwise easily be able to handle this task otherwise, with simple interface to be able to handle HDMI inputs as well.
