Top Amazon Reviews

  • An affordable, reliable standing desk: Highly recommended
Color: Light Wood/White
I have been using this desk since July 2021, and am now reviewing it in December 2021 after approximately half a year's worth of use. Having used the desk daily during that period of time, I wanted to provide an informed (and hopefully helpful) review of it. I wanted this desk for three reasons: (1) I didn't want to purchase a standing desk with a motor because I did not want to deal with motor burnout and the need for replacement; (2) it is one of the largest standing desks on the market; and (3) it was the most affordable crank-operated standing desk with the best reviews on Amazon. My experience with the desk has validated all three reasons for purchasing it and I recommend it unequivocally to anyone with similar needs. ASSEMBLY: The assembly of the desk was fairly straightforward, though the instructions could stand to be better. My recommendation is to proceed with the same level of caution that you might when assembling IKEA furniture; the instructions are accurate, but rely on the user to intuit which direction things are meant to go in based on the visuals in the instructions. I made a few mistakes during installation and had to re-assemble it. I am far from a master furniture installer, but I was able to assemble the desk all by myself within about an hour or so. I wouldn't recommend assembling it by yourself, but it is doable. PERFORMANCE: I use the desk as a standing desk several times a week; I adjust the height of the desk somewhat more regularly, even when not using it as a standing desk. I've experienced no mechanical problems whatsoever. The crank is easy to use, requires no strength, and gets the desk to full height in 20-30 seconds. The desk rattles a bit when being raised to full height, so I usually remove any cups (or fragile items) from the desk while elevating it. Once at full height, the desk probably shouldn't be leaned on too much. It certainly holds everything up and is sturdy, but does move slightly, even under the force of typing on the keyboard. (Not related to the desk itself, but I might recommend an extra-long surge protector for plugging in the computer, as well as carefully watching wires when raising the desk. I've accidentally unplugged my computer a few times while raising the desk.) DURABILITY: After six months of use, the desk shows no signs (knock on wood) of damage or any mechanical issues. The surface of the desk has remained intact and is easily cleaned; I haven't noticed any chips in the surface, and I'm far from careful. I've similarly not noticed any problems with the crank. OTHER PURCHASES: One thing I do highly recommend is purchasing a keyboard tray. If I didn't have one, I'd have to hunch my shoulders when the desk is standing, and the desk would be at a bad height. VIVO makes one that's designed to fit this desk (MOUNT-KB05HB) and it's easy enough to install and holds both my keyboard and mouse without any problem. TAKEAWAYS: If you want a manually operated standing desk with a good surface area at an affordable price, this is an excellent option. I have no complaints whatsoever and thoroughly appreciate this desk. I suffer from RLS, and it's great to have this as an option for alleviating my symptoms -- as well as switching things up a bit when working to improve my circulation and promote general body health. I recommend this desk unequivocally and without hesitation. ... show more

  • I really wanted to like this desk :(
Color: Light Wood/White
For now, I think it's beautiful, but I can already see that there are some fatal flaws in the design. I worry that this was a really bad long term investment, but it's too big and bulky to make a return worthwhile. First off, the quality of the frame is decent enough -- it's lightweight, but feel sturdy. Where I'm really dinging 2 stars is in the quality of the desktop. This wood is SUPER flimsy, and I really don't think that it's going to hold up to long term use. Even from installing my monitor arm, I can tell that this wood is very poor quality. I guess I get what I paid for... I just finished assembling it, so I will try and write an update when I've gotten some more use in. ... show more

  • So far so good!
Color: White/White
It took a little less than an hour to put together. The instructions were definitely a bit confusing! I had ordered the manual desk, and the instructions with the legs came with the instructions for the electric desktop. I'm glad I read the prior reviews before purchasing and made sure to use the screws that came with the desktop for the desktop, rather than the ones that came with the base. The Other challenge I had was that the crank did not line up with the pre-screwed holes... and at the moment it's only held on to the desk with screws on 1 side.. (it was about 2 inches off. At the point I was installing the crank, the desktop is already connected, so you're on the ground on your back. At some point I'm going to need to go back with a drill and put the 2nd pair of screws in to hold it properly and securely, but it does go up and down and it's pretty smooth at the moment. The desk appears to be sturdy... I haven't worked a full week on it yet, so things haven't piled up too high. I believe it says it holds up to 150 lbs on the instructions that came with the desktop (not sure if that's accurate as the desktop comes in 3 pieces and is held together by 2 metal braces that are just screwed on... and there's another metal piece that attaches to the frame - where there are places for screw holes to attach to the center piece of the desktop, but no pre-drilled holes, and no screws in either package to secure it.. and neither instruction booklet (the one that came with the desktop or the base) made any mention of securing it to the middle desktop piece, even though the holes for the screws are clearly there in the diagrams! What's a good project without a few too many pieces or a few too few peices anyway. - So far it's still standing, it's moving as it's supposed to. I had no issues making sure it was level, it appears to be sturdy and doesn't move much when I'm typing. This desk was bought to be used as a regular desk, a standing desk, for a treadmill desk and a bike desk (I can easily fit the bike and the treadmill under it at the same time - and can easily go back and forth... and can just pull the bike back and roll my office chair under it if I want to sit and move the desk down lower. It's saving a lot of space!!! (if anyone is thinking of doing the same... I have a lifespan treadmill (not the one connected to the desk) we were using an ikea standing desk until the legs on one side gave out. For the bike we just used the XTERRA Fitness FB150 Folding Exercise Bike which was on sale for $129. It is surprisingly small when it's folded up and easily fits in the corner of my office and can be moved out when we're using it. Overall, I'm very pleased with the set up! ... show more

Makes a great desk for over my treadmill. Love that I can move it up and down easily.

  • Sturdy, but get a carpenter to build it.
Color: Light Wood/Black
You'll need a screwdriver and a drill to assemble this desk. If you're not confident in your skills with these tools, you'll need to find someone who is, and pay them.
