I usually don’t leave a review unless I really feel an item deserves it, and this does. I had no expectations, I just needed a light that was inexpensive and functioned. The El Cheapo I purchased in the past worked great, and when it was time to purchase another one suddenly El Cheapo wasn’t cheap anymore, so I decided to try this one instead, and let me tell you I’m glad I did it works great. First off it’s built really sturdy, all of the LEDS are bonded to a solid piece of aluminum that is like an 1/8” thick. All of the electronic components are bonded directly to the back of the thick aluminum plate, I’m assuming the thick plate is acting as a heat sink, and the entire thing is barely warm, after being on for around 10 hours. Full spectrum LEDS give off a bright and powerful light, that was way too much for my little plant so I just dimmed it down….oh did I forget to mention it’s dimmable with what seems to be a quality built dimmer. The light is great for what it is and the price, but be aware this is not a huge light, it’s good for maybe a 2x2 ft area at most, the light itself is like 10x11 inches in size. Oh also, one last thing, I have an ePAR meter which can tell me PPFD and DLI into an extended range, and I was easily measuring 1200 PPFD, that was about six inches from the light, my plant doesn’t need that, and it’s too close, but it can do it, so for the price, build quality, and confirmed function, if you need a powerful little light this is it. ... show more

Ive had a dwarf Cavendish banana plant for about 3 and a half years now. I had her under an older model for 90% of its life. Just recently, I decided it was time for a replacement. My old light was purple and this new light blew it away with the beauty of the lights tone. Now finally after a few months being in its new pot and light, Voila, bananas !! The old light was the same brand and works just fine after all that time. I simply use it for the lower plants now. Great brand for price to performance ratio. Solid harness comes with it, its very light in weight. Nice design. Overall I have no complaints. I use this in my living room btw. ... show more

Works good! Got a good deal. Was skeptical at first because this wasn't a official model from what I could find on viper spectras site. I couldn't find mention of it anywhere! Seemed funny to me but I took a chance because I love my xs2000! The light ended up being great! A legit viper light as far as I can tell! Genetic driver not a mean well, but it works good! Light doesn't go beyond 12" depth to lower budding sites. Great for a trained plant with no lower growth. My ppfd is 1200 - 6" away and 800 10" away. You need (6) of these lights in a 4x4 to produce weight. This light covers 18x18 well. With outside Temps at 50 degrees My tent is 75 with six lights and a 4" exhaust. I can say (6) do not produce as much weight as my DE 1000 HPS but I need an A/C and strong exhaust for that tent. Great light for hobbiest and personal stash. ... show more

I previously wrote a review on this light because I was unsatisfied. It had an issue with the driver that was intermittent so it would work great (like it should) and then have an issue. I realized that returns had to be made after 30 days and thought I'd missed the boat on getting it replaced because I used this for 9 months. I never write reviews, but I just received my v1000, which was an addition to my ks3000, (4) p1000, (3) xs1000, p600, and a p1000. If you're searching for your first light to grow one plant from beginning to end with one light, then look no further than the v1000. I was searching for another p600 to add to an auxiliary space to serve as veg, and maybe the first two weeks of flower to give me slightly more coverage. I needed enough light for another 3x3. I like it's sleak profile better than the p600. When I was searching for my first light. I needed to read a simple review like this. Inexpensive yet more than adequate for my new endeavor. Secondly, I have more than one light in two other spaces, as you can see. Some have been running for two years without a blink. The way I see it....if it ain't broke-dont fix it. The price point is great on these lights that are just as good as the competition. This review comes from someone that just got lucky and tried Viparspectra. That's it ... show more
