Haven’t used it yet. Waiting on the electrician to change the outdoor light. Previous owner installed fixture directly to siding. Adding the mount plate will match the white trim and other mount plate on the house.

This mounting block was used to remount a flagpole holder. The previous homeowner screwed the pole mount directly to the vinyl siding, causing rust stains and the siding to crack around the mount. With this very sturdy block I used three 4-inch mounting studs to support the pole mount / block combination. In essence hanging them with little weight on the vinyl siding. I was able to position the pole mount over the center hole to hide it and cover the damaged vinyl siding. For this use I would have preferred a solid faced block with no center hole, but it worked. This mounting block was originally intended for clapboard viny siding. The pre-cut angles were close but not a perfect fit for vinyl shingle. I was able to scribe the top and shape with a grinder so the fit was perfect. It isn't necessary to remove the siding as with some blocks. However, to make a very strong flag mount I cut out the siding and added a 2x4 block. That block sits flush immediately behind the mounting surface. See photos for detail.
