The media could not be loaded. I have to begin this review with stating that I have a bit of an obsession for leather shoes and boots and have an appetite (and an eye) for quality. I also work with leather in my profession. If you were to look into my closet, I have shoes and boots that are classic in style, and are old as can be. Quality leather goods will last. Price, however, isn’t always indicative of the quality but it is a good indicator of what to expect. With these - Vintage Foundry Co. Women's Guilia Bootie, Lug Sole, Round toe, Side Zipper, Rubber outsole – at this price point ($119 at the time of this review) I was expecting full leather uppers, and they are. I was expecting a textile lining but that lining would be fully faced which it is not. I attached a photo of the interior of this boot next to the interior of a more expensive one (by about $50). The more expensive boot, all the edges are faced with leather (and the lining itself is leather as opposed to textile). I was not expecting the leather of these Foundry boots to be as stiff as it is. If it were advertised in the product’s description that these boots were made in India (as they are stamped on the inside of the boot), my expectations regarding the type, quality and feel of the leather would have been more accurate. Because of the firmness of the leather, there has definitely been a break in period for me and it’s ongoing. I was expecting the innersoles of these boots to have more cushioning and to be more comfortable. At first try on, my feet hurt and a lot. However, the more I wore the boots around the house, the more that pain subsided. Today, they don’t hurt my feet. There are lighter spots and markings around some of the seams on each of the boots. This could be glue. I was not expecting that. The zippers are YKK brand of zippers (known for their quality) and they work as they should. And the buckles on each boot are working buckles but they are really more for the aesthetics than for the function. Each of the straps has only two holes to choose from. Loosening the buckle and strap does not help to loosen the tightness of the boot around my calves…which are tight. I do have large calves so I was expecting to experience tightness in this area. Hopefully with wear, the leather in this area will soften and loosen up. I wear a size 8.5 to a size 9 shoe. I ordered a size 9 in these boots and the fit is good. I do have about ¾” of room in front of my big toe. To summarize, I love the style of these boots; it's current and trending yet unique. At this price point however, I was expecting a little better quality in both the leather and in the workmanship. I would have much preferred to forgo on the fancy packaging and presentation in exchange for softer leather and a more comfortable boot all around. ... show more

I really liked these and they fit well (I have a wider foot and tend to wear 8s, which is what I ordered), but the heel was higher than I expected and unfortunately wasn’t exactly what I needed. I’m still giving them a 5, b/c they really are nice and seem to be made well.

    • Gorgeous, comfortable 100% leather boots with a side zipper, rubber outsole, low heel.
Size: 8.5 Color: Burgundy
These beautiful dark burgundy boots fit exactly true to size and are so comfortable. They have a round toe, which means you don't walk around with pinched feet the entire time you're wearing them - I would, because I have wide feet. There's a side zipper that makes putting these on and taking them off easy and doesn't require help from anyone, which is nice if you're alone when you put them on. I ordered my usual size, and these boots fit me perfectly. The ankle strap with a buckle and the elongated toe are the latest style features, according to what I read, because otherwise I wouldn't know. These boots are beautiful, well made, comfortable, and they look great with jeans. These boots are very comfortable. They don't pinch my wide feet at all, and that's probably because they have a natural rounded toe box - I can't wear anything with pointy toes - and they also have a flexible sole. These boots are obviously made of top quality leather - you can tell by looking at them. All I know is that they're comfortable, low heeled so I can walk in them, they're gorgeous, the toe box is longer and wider than in many boots, and these boots are very well made. Excellent product, beautiful dark burgundy boots that also come in black or gray. These fit my wide feet wonderfully, but they're not so wide that they wouldn't fit a normal foot. These are made of 100% leather uppers and have a side zipper and an ankle strap with a buckle. These are easy to put on and take off, and they are very comfortable. I haven't had boots that were actually comfortable in a long, long time, and I'm going to take great care of these so they'll last a long, long time. These are beautiful, well made boots, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a great pair of boots that will last. ... show more
