Smooth, you don't need hand chalk... I had to back off and play less aggressive, I had balls leaving the table. I didn't realize there was that big of a difference in sticks. I've been using bar sticks for a long time. I got this to play at the Legion with fellow vets. Had ball end up behind the bar. So, keep that in mind when you use this stick. The cue itself came packaged securely enough and it looked great. I assembled it and it felt nice. But When I checked the straightness of the cue it was not. After inspecting it I found that the pin was either bent or not installed correctly giving the cue a wobble when rolled. I returned it. Really disappointed and now I have to wait for a month to get my refund. ... show more
