  • Excellent Performance for the Price
Size: 13inch
Not a bad machine for the occasional woodworker or the hobbyist. For the price, the performance is quite good and the results meet all expectations. And now for the downsides: 1) The manual, while it provides essential information and seems complete, is written with poor English. 2) The 'Table Extension' in the back side does not lock in the upward position; You will need a bungee cord to secure it while in storage. 3) The vacuum attachment hood gets clogged after a period of use due to the shavings being rather large. This causes the surface of the work piece to get dimpled. I chose to remove it altogether; however, be aware that this action will actually expose the spinning blades, which could potentially be a safety hazard. ... show more

  • Very good for the price
Size: 13inch
I've only had this planer for a couple of weeks, and have only had the opportunity to use it once. I found it very easy to use, and did not notice any snipe on any of the boards I planed - very nice surprise. The one drawback I found - and the reason I gave only four stars - is that the dust chute clogs almost immediately and starts blowing shavings out the back toward the operator. The exit of the chute is small - maybe 1 1/2 inches, so will not fit my vacuum (yet). Overall, it is a very good planer for the price and will hopefully give me years of service. ... show more

  • Wors awesome
Size: 13inch
I have used this planer several times now and has performed exactly as I would expect. I have planed several different types and sizes of wood. I also planed wood that I had poured epoxy resin in. It came out perfect. I am very happy with the performance of this planer.

  • Very poor quality
Size: 13inch
I bought the planer with high hopes based on reviews, but was very disappointed in the first 15 minutes of use. I started out with a 6" wide piece of maple that was 48" long. The first 3 cuts on low speed worked well, but each subsequent cut at a 1/4 turn would trip the breaker 2/3rds of the way through. My next board was an 8" wide 8' long piece of yellow pine on the faster speed. After the first 2 cuts and breaker trips I switched to the slow speed. I still couldn't get the full length of the board through the machine. I used the machine a total of 15 minutes before I packaged it back up for a return. I contacted vevor for a warranty replacement, but it took 4 days to get an email response from them, so I returned the planer back to Amazon. The new machine performed much poorer than the used 5 year old 2 blade planer it replaced. I ... show more

  • I am still not sure
Size: 13inch
I watched several videos on YouTube about this planner and they all made it look good. So far, I am not a 100% happy. I am getting snipe and still trying to adjust it out. Also, it keeps blowing my circuit breaker. Not the little trip button on the planner but the breaker to my house. I thought it was because I was trying to take off to much but then it blew it when I had no wood running through the planner. I have run table saws, heaters, and many other power tools off that same plug without ever blowing the breaker. I going to run an extension cord from another part of the house to see if that helps. Hopefully i can stop blowing the breaker long enough to get rid of the snipe. ... show more

  • The jury is still out
Size: 13inch
Just started practicing and getting the feel for it yesterday. I was working with some older, weathered (had been stored outside), painted 2x4 of unknown species i got for free on Marketplace last year, I lowered the blades just a tiny bit at a time, turning the crank about 1/4 turn. Well, that seemed to be too much, bogging down and stopping right in the middle of the board. So I'm not sure yet. I'm gonna try some boards of different densities that are in better shape and see how that goes. *Volume: This planer is LOUD...ear protection is not an option. *Weight: It's pretty heavy, probably 70 lbs, which I prefer. *Speed: I couldn't really tell much difference between the 2 speeds *Ease of use: not sure yet. *Quality: It's got 3 blades that I'm not sure about. I'm gonna buy a quality set and change them out. *Performance: There was some snipe on both ends but I expected that. I'll let you know with the new blades. ... show more

  • A very good planer for home use
Size: 12.5inch
Most people have a bench top planer to get an already smooth board to the right thickness. I use this unit to finish milling trees. Step 1 is chain saw milling, step 2 is planing into useful wood. The first image is a planed base on a half log. The half log was planed down to 3 1/2 inches and now has a flat surface that will eventually have rubber feet mounted. The 2nd image is the top side of the half log that used to have chain saw marks. This half log will eventually get hollowed out and become a table centerpiece. There is also a 1/4 inch board planed from the first chain saw mill cut. This first cut would normally be waste but the planer saved it. This piece will see a laser and become a sign. I have also planed multiple 1 inch boards and still need to plane some smaller branches into square lumber for things like oversized dice. The planer came packaged very well and is easy to assemble. You simply assemble the stand and mount the planer. The planer comes with 2 dust port choices (neither work well when planing a tree) as well as the the tools needed to change the planer blades when the time comes. What it doesn’t come with is a place to store the 2nd port and tools. But look at the 3rd pic. It is a big empty space on the stand. If that bottom rail had predrilled holes I could simply cut a board and add a shelf for the tools and extra dust port. Instead, I have to drill my own holes in the bottom rail. So while the planer does a great job and is key to turn a dead maple tree into a variety of hobby woods, I can only give it 4 stars because it comes with extra parts but no place to put those parts. That’s annoying. Easily fixed, but annoying out of the box. Would have been 5 stars if that bottom stand rail had holes predrilled for me to add a board. Hey VEVOR, are you listening? Add holes to that rail. ... show more
