Features

  • Since 1899, Bag Balm has been the farmer's friend, helping to keep dairy cows from becoming chapped from the harsh environment of Vermont's rugged Northeast Kingdom. It's like having another hand on the farm or helper around the house
  • Bag Balm works hard all year round, and works well! Lanolin-enriched Bag Balm is a protective ointment that helps keep skin moisturized and soft. Its simple, tried and true formula is easy to apply and is designed to remain on the affected area
  • For use on cows: Thoroughly wash treated teats and udder with separate towels before each milking. To avoid contamination after each milking, bathe the udder with hot water, strip milk out and dry skin. Apply Bag Balm and massage gently twice daily
  • For use on dogs: Apply Vermont's Original Bag Balm Ointment liberally to cracked paw pads, dry noses, and wherever dry skin occurs. Bag Balm's simple formula is easy to apply and is designed to remain on the affected area for a long-lasting effect

  • Finally a product that actually works!!!
This product is amazing!!! I have had chronic Eczema with cracking, pealing, bleeding hands that started in 2007. After using this product my hands are finally free from all signs of eczema!! I can’t tell you how nice it is to be free of all the pain and frustration of that condition. As a woman, mother, grandmother, and homemaker it was impossible to keep my hands out of water for any length of time so my hands could heal. Using Bag Balm I didn’t have to worry about that. I just applied it after having my hands in water for any reason and it’s truly awesome to have soft smooth hands again!! I can even hold my grandkids hands without pain and embarrassment!! I am sold on this terrific product!! ... show more

  • Incomparable: works on all skin anomalies!
Best ever! A physician recommended this to me over 35 years ago & I’ve used it ever since on any and every imaginable abrasion, dryness, or skin irregularity chronic or otherwise with faultless success. I’ve given tins to friends & family as gifts & they still use it. Would never & will never be without it. ... show more

  • AMAZING
I have been using this product since I was 17. I use it several times a day on my lips and have literally no wrinkles/lines around my mouth. I am 60 now. I first started using it when I was working at an airport and my hands became very chapped and cracked from chemicals I had to use. My roommate told me to get some cotton gloves and put the bag-balm on generously and then sleep with the gloves on. After three nights my hands were completely recovered. I was a fan ever since. While I never had cause after leaving the airport to use it on my hands, I have used it on my lips ever since. Love it! ... show more

  • Multiple Uses
With all the hand washing, simple hand lotion is not working for my horribly, dry hands - chapped and burning. I have always used Bag Balm when my hands get this dry. I also use it on my dry heals - slather it on before bed, throw on some cotton socks and your heals are amazingly soft in the morning. I also used it for diaper rash, works great. ... show more

  • Original Bag Balm 8oz tin
First, I do not anything that has a real strong scent. Second, a scent that can not be specifically identified is aggravating! Third, I bought two 8oz tins and may regret it. I purchased the Bag Balm Original hoping the scent would be acceptable to my very dry skin but sensitive nose. I struck out on this one because it has a weird scent. I can’t find out whatever it is that is creating the scent. It’s a cross between Vaseline and something my dad used as a mechanic years ago. I hope it works as well as it proclaims in my extremely dry and cracked skin. Not sure how it will do after shaving my legs which is when I need it most. Definitely not sure if the balm will stain fabric like most balm products and lotions do! But price was right, and I NEED something that will not only cover my dry skin but also allow the lanolin in the balm to help keep it hydrated. I’ll re-review this after using it for a while. ... show more

  • This stuff is amazing
Wow. If you can handle the scent this stuffs great. I didn't think it would do much to replace moisture as it's an ointment but I swear this has been a game changer for my hands. I also think it's working wonders on my nails. Mind you there is an unpleasant scent but it's not over powering.

  • I took off one star for being greasy.
I took off one star for being greasy. So most of the time, I put it on my hands at night and wear cotton gloves. For me this is the best way to use it, as it actually works best overnight. During the day, when I need to, I use only a tiny amount and work it in. It has helped me tremendously with my eczema. I have a couple of acres of forest at my house, with lots of weeds that need pulling. I am the only one around that will pull weeds, so I need it a lot, for when my hands flare up. I really don't know what I would do without it! Lots of bidens alba I guess! ... show more

  • great
If you have very dry chap skin, this is the product you should get. My husband has very chap heels and he applies them every night after a shower and in a month or less, it was smooth. I use it also on my heels and also a small amount on my face as well. It has no smell to it and it can feel like vaseline but it is not. It is not as expensive as the cosmetic moisturizer and it is not fancy but it does its job. ... show more
