The strings lay on the frets. The finish is really really bad. The machine heads (tunners) are junk, they stick then pop loose when trying to tune and break the string. Don't buy if you want a finished playable guitar, otherwise you will need to buy a new taller bridge, strings and new tunners. On the plus side the neck is straight, LOL. ... show more
