The ALTA FLY 58T airline carry-on, spinner-backpack is designed to face the challenges professional photographers face when traveling all over the world. Constructed from durable, anti-scratch, moisture resistant materials, this bag is built to withstand years of long-haul wear and tear. Ultra-secure, it features a ‘3 Security Point System’; buckle lock over the external zipper and an internal full-coverage zippered mesh flap so that you never need to worry about prying hands or eyes. Last but not least it is fully customizable so that you can dictate the content capacity, and when you arrive open up and find the best working tool for the job you came to shoot. The ALTA FLY 58T’s well-padded internal compartment opens fully for ease of use and the multitude of versatile dividers can be adjusted to fit 1-2 Pro DSLRs, 4-6 lenses (up to 300mm f/2.8), a flash unit, and accessories, or use the dedicated dual use/dual color drone action dividers to fit a drone with all related items. I am reviewing the Vanguard 62T. This is a spacious bag. It will not, however fit in airline cabins. Also, I am not affiliated with Vanguard in any way. I write reviews for buyers, not sellers. The Vanguard 62T is very well built. The fabric is heavy duty, but feels much smoother than the sandpaper feel of Cordura years ago. The zippers run smoothly. Better than any bag I've owned. The wheels are good quality, turn freely and are easily replaceable. The bag is fully padded, even the closure section has padding. I don't use a device when shooting away from my studio, but there is room for a laptop and tablet. The handles are very well placed and are secure. I especially like that there is a handle strap on the bottom for use when picking the entire bag up. Here is something that I have always found lacking in my other bags. Every cinch point for attaching a tripod, monopod or whatever you may want to attach to your bag comes with a tie-down strap. The pocket for tripod feet fit my Bogen 3021 BPRO (055) and there is a side pocket that will hold a shoot through umbrella, which I often use for outdoor shoots. The soft cases for my 24" softboxes which also get outdoor use have handles that fit over the handle of the 62T. The 62T shines with design forethought and execution. The inside of the bag came with the camera dividers installed. This made it easy to fit my gear. I simply put the gear in the bag, moved a divider to snug up what I put in there and done. A set of drone dividers is included with the bag. The padding is thick, plush and protective. There is also a security net that zips between your gear and the closure to prevent an accidental equipment spill and two security straps with clips to prevent the cover from opening fully. The 62T is a great bag, but for my use it isn't perfect. I shoot with a full frame DSLR with grip. The grip causes the camera to sit higher in the case and the hot shoe rubs against the net. If I don't put something between the net and hotshoe, the net won't last very long in my use. Also, it would have been good to have a number of small pockets for lens cloths, memory cards, and spare batteries, etc. sewn into the inside of the cover. The two memory card pockets are only large enough for a couple of cards I'm currently using the bag with the net and security straps. Although I did once have an equipment spill while using my last bag, I think in time I'm going to get tired of using the net all of the time and the security straps are painful to use constantly. This isn't a big deal. The net can be unzipped and folded into the very bottom of the inside of the case and the straps can just be ignored. I'm sure there will be times when I want them, but for most use, maybe not. We'll see. So, I'm really pleased with the bag. I can get my camera, wide angle, 70-200, and 100-400mm lenses in there along with my speedlight, flash trigger, 4 sets of speedlight batteries, Rocket blower, a stack of lens filters, and the lens hoods for all of my lenses. Liked the construction and materials used to make this backpack. Convertible to roller travel bag for airline travel. Fits easily withing most airlines as a carry on. Held my Canon 6d Mk II with four lenses (largest was my tamron 35-150mm) and a flash with accessories. And I manage to throw in a jacket during my winter holiday travel Another plus is that the camera compartment is removable like in the video. So it doesn't solely have to be a camera bag but it also be a regular luggage to store clothes for travel. The only minus, for me was that it can only accommodate notebooks smaller than 14in. I have a 15.6 in laptop I carry and I had bring it separately as a personal item in a laptop bag. For short trips, I'll probably use this as my luggage and I'll use my PGYtech Onemo back pack as my camera bag. ... show more

My husband and I are both photographers. We ordered this and the 58”. I love this one because it is smaller but if you are photographer that uses big lens- then I would recommend the 58. I chose the 55 because it meets TSA Carryon Standards and was worried that we would have issues. My husband has the 58. The 55 a T-handle with only one bar connecting to he bag and so it doesn’t handle as well over the bumps, but the 58 has a U-shaped with wombats that provides more stability if you have multiple bags. Both have backpack straps if needed so you wouldn’t have to gate check a roller bag and both fit in overhead. The 58 holds our bigger lens better but we do love both and though there are negatives with the 55, it is easier to put in overhead compartment. I would recommend either but probably would go with 58” if I were to order again. We haven’t been stopped once in airport for the 58 and I would like the extra room. ... show more

While I don't use this as a regular backpack while hiking, it is invaluable to me for air travel. It holds my Nikon D850 with Sigma 150-600 lens attached (turning the lens hood backward) plus a second camera (Nikon D7200), an extra 18-300 lens, and accessories like cords and cards. It also holds a few travel essentials such as contact lens solution and other 4 oz liquid bottles, gloves, and light clothing change. As a small person, being able to wheel my camera case through the airports and into and out of hotels is almost essential! ... show more

I boult the case for a recent trip to Australia. The waist strap kept coming out and getting caught in the wheels. Also, it kept the bag from fitting in the carry-on checker even with nothing in the outer pockets. I cut it off. Other than that, I like it. It fit what I need for the trip, Just.

I was very excited to finally use this bag. I shoot a Nikon D5 and D6 with Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8, Nikon 300mm f/2,8 and Nikon 25-70mm f/2.8 lenses. This is what I was anticipating putting into this bag along with a Dell XOS 15” laptop. This bag feels great. Wheels are smooth and the material is quality. But my beef is with the capacity. All the reviews and the company’s printed material and tags assure you you could get all my gear I. It. I knew the two cameras was a dream but as another reviewer state, my cameras are too tall to put one into the bag with a lens attached and the other lenses. The bag has lots of pockets and the laptop barely squeezes in but it did fit. The netting over the main part of the bag is great. And the padding is definitely thick enough to protect the gear during travel. But still the problem with this rather expensive bag is there isn’t as much room for Pro-style gear as expected snd as stated by the manufacturer. I waited too long to even open the box so no return for me. I will find someone who would be able to use this bag and give that person a great deal. If your gear is a little smaller, but you want to take a lot of it, this is the bag for you. ... show more

Love everything about this back except the zippers. I wish the fabric had a little more give so the zipper would split when I put something in the compartments. Perhaps it just needs to be broken in. I’m hoping the fabric relaxes before the zippers completely let go!
