Please adjust the tuner to enter the violin tuning mode before tuning. Tips for Tuning A new violin need patient adjustments to make it ready for playing Adjust the pitch of each string using the pegs. Please push the tuning pegs in as you turn it, to make sure the peg is staying wedged in.Make sure that as you turn the peg that the string evenly coils around the peg. After tuning is complete, make sure that the tailpiece side of the bridge is still properly aligned. If the bridge is leaning in either direction, slightly loosen the strings and carefully re- align the bridge using both hands. Read more How to Place a Bridge on Violin? 1. Loosen the strings slightly To avoid snapping a string while placing the bridge, loosen the strings slightly. You loosen violin strings by turning the tuning knobs on the end of the violin. 2. Place the bridge between the F-holes When you slide the bridge under the strings, make sure it's between the two F-holes. The bridge should be placed at roughly the midway point of the f-holes. 3. Make sure the bridge is standing at a 90 degree angle The side of the bridge facing the violin's tailpiece should stand at 90 degree. The other side of the bridge should be sloped forward slightly. If not, put it in place backwards. You'll have to remove the bridge and start over. 4. Tighten the strings Re-tighten your strings to keep the knob in place. Gently turn each knob on the bottom of the violin. It's a good idea to use one hand to hold the bridge in place while tightening the strings, to prevent it from falling over. • Take the battery out and remove the wrapper
Size: 4/4
Like I mentioned in the other review. My girlfriend and her friends have a late year resolution on learning guitar. And somehow, they want me to play violin. So I can teach them guitar, and in return, I can learn violin from them. Well, not a bad deal, as I love music and am always curious about how to play violin. I am not sure if this is from the same seller but this set also comes with everything one may need. Plus carrying case and tuner. Strings and spare strings are unlike traditional ones, you do not need to know the technique to twist them, just need to hook them on and tune it. The one I bought is acoustic version. Very elegant looking but feels a little light in my hand. Maybe it's just me. I'm more used to the heavier instruments. I saw some low star reviews regarding bridge is detached and electronic component not working... I don't think any new violin comes with the bridge pre-attached. If you buy in store I'm pretty sure they will set it up for you. But it is a better idea to remove the bridge before transporting or traveling. Setting up the bridge is pretty self-explanatory. Or you can google search "violin". The picture will give you a perfect idea where to position that wooden piece. And for the electronic part... although the one I bought is not electric, but if it is the same as the guitar I bought... They packaged it really well and the 9v battery is in plastic wrapping. This ensures the battery is new when you get it and prevents battery leak. So try taking out the battery to remove it's plastic packaging first. ... show more

  • It's a toy
Size: 4/4
It appeared in decent condition upon arrival, and after 15 minutes of gentle handling, the strings popped off. I brought it to a local music store to see if they could help me repair it. They said it is not a violin for playing, it's just a toy. We opted to rent an instrument instead.

  • If you are looking for something to actually play this is not it
Size: 4/4
So cheaply made. Even for the price we were scared to touch anything for fear that it would fall apart. Which it did more than once and we were constantly putting pieces back together. OK to look at from a distance but zero out of 10 for functionality.

  • Impressive quality and outstanding value
Size: 4/4
Met and exceeded expectations! This is a well-crafted instrument. As a first time violin player, I am very happy with the quality and the extras that were included (tuner, case, etc. ). I had a question for the seller and received a response in less than 1/2 a day. Very helpful, professional and would recommend to anyone. ... show more

  • Excellent for the price, does the job.
Size: 4/4
I bought this for my 11 year old daughter to learn to play. We asked the opinion of the music teacher and she said it was just fine for learning. My daughter takes her lessons seriously and is learning to make beautiful music with this instrument. I am very pleased with the quality for the price we paid for this beginners violin. ... show more

  • Great for Beginners
Size: 4/4
Had to have fiddle repaired because the bridge was too high. Craftmanship-barb was not smooth and caused strings and bow to break.
