  • Incredible value
I had been looking at lots of high-end brands of marine binoculars, and was seriously considering getting Steiners. I ran across these in my search, and decided to check them out. I was astonished at the level of quality, cosidering the low cost. The features alone would make it a great deal, but when I actually went outside and looked through them, I was very surprised. The clarity and detail is stunning. I doubt if even the Steiners could provide a noticeably better view, even at a cost many times higher. ... show more

  • Good binoculars , need to be careful when using the compass
I bought these because I race a sailboat and I needed the compass function - I already have some great standard binoculars. First as plain binoculars these are first rate, bright, clear image with no aberration. However with the compass it needs to be perfectly level when reading it. This means the binoculars cannot be pointing up or down. You cannot adjust the eyepieces to fit your eye spacing, the only thing that matters is that the graticule is vertical and the compass horizontal. Then you will get a really accurate reading, good to a degree in my case. I was put off at first by this and then I considered "they are $90"! You want to pay 10x then you get a fully stabilized compass, but my application of racing sailboats they are great. Of course if you are not using the compass function then you can adjust inter eye distance etc to be whatever you want. ... show more

  • Solid value
Purchased these for range operations, and they performed well. Range estimation is spot on, and the illumination from the etched range markers works exceptionally well during limited visibility. The magnification is great, with very little eye relief needed. The carrying case is bulky, however works well for storage in a backpack- would've much rather preferred a MOLLE compatible system on the backside, but for the money- it's a solid investment. Easy to use and understand, it's shock and water resistance, paired with it's rubberized texture and subdued color make it an extremely versatile set of binoculars. ... show more

  • Extraordinary Value
One of the true great bargains to find on Amazon. Glass clarity is terrific. They are not "compact", but for marine applications, or something that sits at home for occasional use, these cannot be beat for the price. I have $500 binos that are high quality, and no better.

  • Surprisingly Good
I haven't put these these through tough use yet, but for what I have used them for( a few short hikes with my daughter, and some junior bird watching), they have been great. I have used some very high end military binoculars in my day, and while I wouldn't put these at their level, these are still some very nice binoculars. They are solidly made with adjustments easily made. They are coated with rubber for a positive grip. The compass lights up as it should and is visible by day or night. On the range finder, it is in mils so you either need to do the conversion, use the dial on the front, or get a mil dot master sliding rule offered here on Amazon. That's if you are buying it for the ranging option. The glass is very clear. It comes with a quality case and the optic covers are well made and remain in place. I am pleased I purchased these. ... show more

  • Good picture. Large. No ranging.
I am most disappointed that there is not an integrated range finder. There is a reticle that can help estimate range based on known size of objects. I should have known based on the price. The optics were very good.

  • Value
Impressive. Especially for the money. Haven’t used it much yet but VG so far. Compass works great. Range finder is, of course, an estimate and only works if you approximate the height of your target. Overall, very good.
