I ordered the single issue instead of the free trial because I had no idea what a digital copy from Amazon would be like. I didn't find the "Table of Contents" hidden away at first... so it was a frustrating initial encounter with the paper. I couldn't get out of the page-by-page format. When I found the list to link from, I went to several of the titles provided. Eventually I realized there were no dates. I had no idea when the articles were written, or the publication date of the paper. I read somewhere that they didn't publish on Sundays so I thought it must be a Friday edition, but there was NO WAY to know for sure. It didn't seem like a real newspaper. I wondered if the "Kindle version" was the reason, that it was formatted like a Kindle book. Ordinarily, I would read USA TODAY in a print version. I think I might prefer a magazine-like format that looked like a newspaper, with photos and headlines to choose from. I don't think I will order another news edition any time soon. I am trying to find a way to get good news information within the limitations of my life right now. Dating seems to be a big issue in a lot of formats. I have just started buying Kindle books, so change may happen in the future... after I discover more options out in the internet world. ... show more

    • Strange way to read a daily paper
I like the USA paper, but found that this format does not really work for me. It loads automatically on my Fire, and the type face is set up that I can quickly scan and read what I want of that day's news. I believe what they are using is the type copy only. There are no categories, or index, and it is devoid of photos and color. I have found that it hits a bit of all the news that appears in the sections of the physical paper. But I find it very lacking in the Technology and Living areas, and too heavy in the sports for my liking. There are no ads which is great, but I believe because of that the $12. a month is being charged, and that is too high a price for what I feel I am getting. ... show more

    • USA Today Digital Worth a Daily Read
I read USA Today every morning on my tablet. I prefer it to the abbreviated edition that appears in local newspapers owned by the same company. In spite of recent announcements that most prefer to watch instead of read their news, I like both, and find print editions give me more of the in-depth information I want, especially business news. I have just two small complaints. I would prefer more news and less Opinion section. I seldom read anything in the Opinion section. Also, on days when the digital edition was not available, it seems a credit should have been issued, since we paid for something we did not get. I know it's a small amount of money, but it's the idea that counts. ... show more

    • Fair and Balanced? I don't think so...
The best part of my day is when having that first cup of coffee while reading the daily news. Every morning I look forward to my first cup of coffee and the daily newpaper...USAToday. I won't give up the coffee but it USAToday doesn't start giving me more fair and balanced reports I will cancel my subscription. Opinion pieces such as "GOP Day of Shame..."Friday, July 26,2019, should be balanced with an opposing viewpoint. I'm sure that I speak for many readers who want objective news reporting and have had it with left-leaning publications ... show more

    • Not the best newspaper around but it will do for the big americancenteric stories.
There are better newspapers, but USA today does lend itself to kindle very well. I like to buy all my media for my kindle one issue at a time. To be honest when I am in my roaming area on my cellphone, I get all my news from Flipboard. However I was off the coast near China standing watch on the stern of the vessel watching for pirates when I noticed my kindle had a signal. I down loaded a few newspapers and had a nice time catching up on the news, and thankfully saw no pirates. Since then when I am overseas, I find myself picking and choosing among the various news publications whenever I want to catch up with is going on in the world outside my little area. ... show more

    • Its a Newspaper!
One of my favorite things about this newspaper is that it reminded me of how much more I get for my money when I buy the New York Times. Even with its inflated pricing, I get much more content, not to mention content I can actually relate to. The success of a newspaper isn't entirely based upon its reporters ability to show how much the know about something no one else wants to read about. So if I had a free morning and wanted to get caught up on the news. I would definately buy the New York Times again. ... show more

    • Short, not updated.
I have been pleased with the ability to buy a single copy of a newspaper on my Kindle fire without having to subscribe. The Washington Post, New York Times and other's. But, today I tried USA Today. It took a short time (unlike the New York Times) to read. One story was about the murder of a young black man in Georgia. But, although the killers were finally arrested yesterday. The "current" issue of USA Today said no arrest has been made. That tells me that in the age of the internet that the folks at USA Today don't care enough about putting out an updated paper which I bought with updated money. So, add an un-updated day say old story and short articles and you have zero reason to buy this digital product. ... show more

    • Good but...
While you get no ads (a good thing) you do not get all the pics that are in the paper. If your kindle only connects wifi, I sometimes have trouble getting paper downloaded, especially when I travel. I would never buy another kindle that doesn't connect through whisper network. I really like how the the contents page is organized so that you get title of article and can select if interested. ... show more
