Lose your old remote? Destroy it during a sporting event? Dog got your remote? It really does matter because most every brand operates off this remote. Easy to program and assign functions (tv, dvd, vcr, some digital streaming boxes). Likely much less expensive than ordering a factory replacement. If you can manually turn of your tv without a remote, you should be able to program this to keep you from ever getting that close to it ever again. Well, until you lose this. The remote works fine just very cheaply made in a 3D printer, not even smoothed down just feels weird in my hand.

My only disappointment on my last one was that a couple of the buttons started failing. But they are pretty cheap to replace.
